DAMN RIGHT!!

Dude, you don't understand....when I heard this game announced officially 3 years ago, I've been waiting since.
3 years of waiting bro....I'm dying to sit down and have a 12 hour run...scratch that. I'm dying to have a run until my eyes hurt and I can't stay away any longer.
2 days for that.
I'm gunna be at the store for exactly 11am (time the store opens), I'll be home by 11:30am and then the run will begin. I suspect a good 18 hour run will be the case. Sleep for 5 hours and then play again. I wanna take FULL advantage of the 2 days I booked off Very Happy
I booked wednesday and thursday off and I'm considering taking Friday off. I'm 3 weeks ahead of schedule at work so it won't be a problem...wait...gunna call the boss (the owner and my friend) now.........YES! Friday off as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH BABY!!!!!
So I gots Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and the weekend to play the proverbial shit outta this game!
NICE!!!
Now I'm 10x excited Very Happy Very Happy

And yes, like a fat kid...but a fat kid in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory (candy store is no comparison lol). Smile

Well, the manual part is good.

But the rest is useless. But i would study the manual like I was studying for an exam until I can activate and play it. Smile

But maybe the activation can be bypassed like FEAR2 and DOW2, and thus played before the activation date.

And, cue Boundle.......

Still no release?Sad

That would be awesome cause then we'd get a release in the next day or 2 or 3 at most Smile

Lets just hope we see a release by Friday or at the MAX, Saturday.

You know Syco - hyping yourself up for a game isn't really a good idea - if anything, it leads to disappointment.

Granted, I've failed to follow my own philosophy on this title and can't fucking wait. Very Happy However, unlike most of you that have cleared your schedules, as luck would have it, I start fucking work on Wednesday Sad

lol. If my wife doesn't give birth by Wednesday, they are inducing labor at 5am on Wednesday.
Empire will have to wait a little while for me unfortunately.
Not long though.
BUT, after that. . . I have 2 WEEKS off work.

Kind of fun, I actually dreamed that I was checking nforce and someone posted parts of an nfo in this thread and everyone was like "Woot! Early release!" but then it was just someone pasting the wrong games nfo (like someone did with Endwar earlier in the thread) and I got so pissed off in the dream that i woke up.. Sad

Much cheaper for you guys :'(

I gotta upgrade my whole system Razz or more like buy a whole new system.. as I've been using laptops for last 5 years...

Case alone brings like 300€ bill Razz as I've already acquired sli 8800 gt cards for almost free... means I've gotta buy some 750 Watt power + case which offers better air cirqulation than those 40€ cases Razz

You are better off buying a high efficency high quality 600w power unit, than a cheap low quality 750w one :/
I'll never make the mistake of buying cheaper but "moar powar!" ever again after a low quality one almost fried my entire computer.

Ok thanks.

I've chosen everything else pretty much already, just the case/power is still a bit of a problem... I would not want to get some cheap 49€ plastic case and 50€ power... NOR would I want 300€ aluminium with 200€ 1kw power (well I would want to but don't want to burn that much money for just the case)

Anyhow I was planning either AMD phenom 9550 2.6GHz, 8 GB of ddr2 1066, aand SSD disk for windows.

Or then Intel quad core Q8200 + rest same.

Should it run empire: TW well? Smile I'm not after 1920x1600 resolution or anything (my monitor is barely capable of 1280x1024)

Sorry for going offtopic Smile I'm just planning to get the machine within few weeks so I'd like to hear ideas from several places ( already asked a lot at the computer stores)

You are set then. Just select the brand you like the most for cpu manufacturer. For me, i stick with Intel when using a nvidia card. It seems to work the best in my opinion but really there isn't much difference.

Is this game any fun if you skip participating in the battles? If you were to play it as more of a 4x turn based games and just auto-resolved the battles from the map?

The previous TW games were kind of simplistic if played this way. How is this one?

No it is no fun to play it that way I would assume, since the main feature of this game are the battles...

It's like asking if it is fun to drive a ferrari if you only drive backwards in a straight line...

I got my copy today and i doubt that we will see a cracked one before releaseday. The game has to be activated BEFORE install. In short the game can't be installed hence no file to crack. Unless they manage do decrypt the files on the dvd which i hardly believe they can. But one can always hope Razz

I don't know if it's changed since I last looked but that encryption stuff via Steam has been available for a while now, all that is needed is the packed files themselves. Smile

With simpack.exe
Code:

simpack x empire_disc1.SIM -g10501 6143EE9F1CFDF68B0C2A34DB27A0CD6C D:\Games\etw
simpack x empire_disc1.SIM -g10502 71C5FB913C50FD952C1DA96E864A66DF D:\Games\etw
simpack x empire_disc1.SIM -g10503 7EE90DE0D74AAFE400727B6C090FB2FC D:\Games\etw
simpack x empire_disc1.SIM -g10504 287B940DC26A6357B5460A9305D2733E D:\Games\etw

Thats how you theoretically get an english installation, then you also need the loader.exe from the fear2 release.
And place a steam_appid.txt containing the appid number only "10500", I think, in the game folder "etw".
