this sucks.. im an hour in and im bored as hell.. its replaced the scary atmosphere with stupid startle tactics like FEAR and the like.
Tempting to uninstall, but story seems interesting, will keep playing. So far ... 5/10? :/

Completed this game when it was first released. It was really good to be honest. I had honestly never tried any other SH title before, but this was a commendable one for a survival horror game. The only real issues I had with the steam version was 30fps cap, letterboxing, vocal sounds being very low & a slight stutter. Apart from that no much to complain about.

Just saw retail copy is available at a hungarian store called cdgalaxis. internet activation isn't required for that one. Prolly not the boxed steam version...

Just finished the game
Environments, cinematics and boss fights are awesome,
Story and puzzles are great,
Standard monsters fights and repetitive rooms with tons of locked door is really bad.

Hey guys, JBeckman, I grabbed the vitality release last night, and cant start it cause g_SilentHill.sgl can't be found, try re-installing blah blah blah.. Searched torrents, forums, nada. Can ya give me some insight as opposed to downloading it again? Odd the bin folder only contains the exe and bink32.dll no g_SilentHill.sgl. Thanks a lot.

so is there any fix for that sound bug where in cutscenes it plays in one speaker? theres no options for me to set it to 5.1 in my device manager, so i couldn't figure it out. wanted to play this one but that really annoyed the hell out of me.

equip a weapon first, then lock on to someone and click to attack (right click for a heavy attack, iirc)

try deleting the vars_pc.cfg file from the game's folder, before running it again. the controls should switch back to the defaults. if that doesn't work, try using a controller instead of m+k.

new Silent Hill game is coming, seems it's been developed by Czech studio Vatra Games and there will be PC version as well.

the developer's website details the company's focus on "high-end action titles for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC," so it's safe to assume that the next Silent Hill will probably not be for Wii or one of the handheld platforms. And, well, there definitely won't be any music from long time series composer, Akira Yamaoka, but you already knew that. |
