I've always used cyrus. Plant a explodey bomb thing(rofl forgotten the name), hit invicibility or run for it and pop the explosive. Makes the extra spawns in boss fights easy as. Also his anti-infantry sniping ability actually does a chunk of damage to bosses, so not only can you pick off zoanthropes/warriors before they can do much damage, you can continually punish the bosses. Last but not least, he can revive whilst cloaked if you get the right upgrade which saved me one mission I had to completely write off score-wise.

I played with 1.0 and then patched, ran without a hitch and I have played till the last mission, just dragging it on now.

dunno. I only played 4 or so missions which ran without a hitch.

There is a problem with the Angle Gate mission with 1.0, which is well beyond 4 missions.

I fucking love plasma cannons. So great sitting at long range, blowing up garrisoned buildings in one hit. It's great when Avitus focuses his fire too, since he can continually fire it.

My bro completed it with version 1.0 .. PD 2.66, 8600GT, crappy mobo.. not one crash he says.

Did you try compatibility modes and such? Maybe Vista is blocking it because you're nnot logged in as admin?

It's something to do with permissions.
Run as administrator, disable UAC, whatever.
EDIT: They've made a steam extractor, which the installer puts in the temporary user folder and runs it with the correct parameters. There should be a vty_install.exe in your temp folder.

So is there any way of playing the co-op campaign without having to buy the game? I thought people were playing it co-op without having bought the game.

That, or if you have a fast ping to your friend for Hamachi. But 30ms is nearly impossible. |

Anyway to get a LIVE Key? Damn it sounds like i cant play it, that was the whole reason i d\l it and all its relevant patches etc. I dont play games single player, only mainly co-op over lan when i can.

This game is so freaking addicting with all the various item drops. Favorite of 09 so far. Totally worth screwing around with getting it initially installed. Make sure u install the extra/premium game content (items for squads) mentioned in the guide by iNatan in this thread. Helps a lot in the beginning of the game.
By the way towards the end of the game the Terminator armor for Avitus gives him a default damage in the 600 range. Freaking shreds stuff left and right. Definitely build up his skills to get to this armor.
Found using Cyrus, Dreadnought, Force Commander, and Avitus makes a lethal combo. Agree with everyone else that Cyrus is a bad mofo when upgraded. The stealth setting of remote bombs is by far the best tool to trash large groups of enemies.
