DAMN RIGHT!!
Dude, you don't understand....when I heard this game announced officially 3 years ago, I've been waiting since.
3 years of waiting bro....I'm dying to sit down and have a 12 hour run...scratch that. I'm dying to have a run until my eyes hurt and I can't stay away any longer.
2 days for that.
I'm gunna be at the store for exactly 11am (time the store opens), I'll be home by 11:30am and then the run will begin. I suspect a good 18 hour run will be the case. Sleep for 5 hours and then play again. I wanna take FULL advantage of the 2 days I booked off
I booked wednesday and thursday off and I'm considering taking Friday off. I'm 3 weeks ahead of schedule at work so it won't be a problem...wait...gunna call the boss (the owner and my friend) now.........YES! Friday off as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH BABY!!!!!
So I gots Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and the weekend to play the proverbial shit outta this game!
NICE!!!
Now I'm 10x excited
And yes, like a fat kid...but a fat kid in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory (candy store is no comparison lol). |
Get a damn life! |
I do have a life.
My girl and i both plan on playing it and considering i make really really good money, i can afford to take 3 days off AND considering the hours ive been working, i deserve it
so stfu when you have absolutely NO IDEA as to what your talking about.
Go troll somewhere else....

Well, the guy's tellin me I have no life...seriously. because i've been waiting for a game for close to 3 years and am excited. More so because my girl is gunna play it with me. The guy has 5 posts, shouldn't be talking like that since he doesn't know anyone's history.

Post count is not a measurement of experience.
When people come here and are new to this community, it's right that they don't know us, but we don't know them either, we don't know how they communicate and if they're being sarcastic. Theres different ways you can choose to react to people and their replies, either by being the better man and ignore it, joke around, etc.
Not everything is intended harmful even if it might at first appear so, some people aren't that good with english and try their best at communicating in a fashion that they think is how their self image should be projected onto the forums.
Sure theres asses amongst new comers, but we also have our share of asses here on the forums, so we have to learn to coexist as best as possible, when people with a low post count continue aggrevating people, they'll get kicked, simple as that.
No reason to feed potential trolls and add to their potential enjoyment.

Well, you know me man. How long have I been here. I don't take lightly to being ridiculed by someone who doesn't know me.
And what do you mean post count has nothing to do with experience? In terms of being on the forum, knowing people, interacting with people etc, of course it does.
I would never bash someone for giving their opinion on say a game, even if i disagree, just because they have a low post count.
But when the guy has 5 posts and doesn't know me AT ALL, yeah, it does make a difference.
And I wasn't feeding anything...I'm entitled to defend myself against someone who attacks me for no reason and doesn't know me at all.
If it were on the street and you and 4 buddies were talking about something and some guy none of you know comes up and says "Get a life" and rolls his eyes...what would you do? Joke around with him? Be nice to him? No. You'd tell him off or kick his ass.
Same difference on here.

So the viewer method I posted on the previous page didn't work for locating the EXE or whatever other files are in the archives? or hasn't anyone tried it yet, should work just fine if the files are actually in there somewhere.
(Should be pretty easy to extract them afterwards if they exist.)
This is assuming something went wrong during the actual extraction that was posted previously and not all files were unpacked correctly, perhaps just the main archive files got unpacked and not the other parts. (Redist, language and EXE files I believe it's split into plus the main part, Epsilon posted the entire code for unpacking it all about three pages back I think.)

I don't think he tried the verbose method. And I don't have the data, so I can't try it either. I, like most people, have to wait till next week.

A bit off-topic. So even if one buys the game in a store, Steam is still required to download the missing data?

If the exe is indeed missing then yes, in any circumstance, if you're not using cracks or other third party software to get it to run then you need both a steam account and the steam client software to install and play the game.

This is the internet. If you cant handle a random person saying something that isnt even offensive, i dont know how you've lasted this long..
Get a life
Note, i dont mean that in the "lol you are waiting for a game" sense, i mean it in the sense that you shouldnt take random idiots on the internet as seriously as if it was in real life..

On Amazon.de it says
Quote: | Dieser Artikel wird am 4. März 2009 erscheinen |
(This article will be available on the 4th of March 2009)
In my order it also says that it will be shipped on the 4th... I am anyway at Geneva Motor Show most of next week, so I guess i will have to wait it out . I ordered the "Special Forces" edition, I guess that wont matter as for the release date but.
That is if there is no release on the week end .

did they just lift it up and drag it to the west coast some time in the last 200 years then? |
Glasgow isn't on the West Coast now, either.

I'd like to see the next game, one where it spans several eras.
Like from medieval to up to ww1.
That would be a massive game.

Perhaps one day we will see a truly epic, civilization-esque Total War, where you take your men from being hunter-gatherers to astronauts. I hope I live to see the day!

Sadly WW1 would make for a terrible Total War adaptation.
Right-click "Go to trench", Target Enemy Trench, Right-click "Suppressive Fire". End of game.

Personally I would not at all mind another "Rome" game, sort a in love with that era. The map spans Europe, North Africa and Euro Asia etc etc. And I like the concept of one power trying to dominate based on a centralized state sort a .
