You know whats fun to do when your in a bad mood and wanna piss someone off?
Go on some Evangelical/Hardcore Christian chatroom and simply say "You guys know the Bible is not legitimate HISTORICAL FACT right?". LOL
That one comment will get everyone upset and i swear, ive heard some stupid shit from those people....like completely absurd. Stuff the Church doesn't even say is true lol

Would you start making fun of someone in a wheel chair if you saw them on the street? No. So why is it ok on the Internet? Because its anonymous? That doesn't make it right or acceptable.

nono, its not the image. its just that making fun of handicapped people isn't cool at all. Image or no image, its not right.
A person can't help it if they are physically or mentally challenged so why make fun of them you know?
And so we are clear Hijacker, Im not coming down on you....i'm just saying in general and whoever made that pic has very bad taste and a sick sense of humour.

My point is, its not acceptable imo. It's not like those people have chosen to be that way...then yes, it would be funny and acceptable. But they are born like that and do the best they can and try as hard as they can to be accepted into society. And ignorant people who make fun of them just because of a disability are fuckin heartless assholes.
One my the best thing's ive done in my life was when I was teaching martial arts in a regular club, I volunteered to teach a handicapped class. Some of the kids had down syndrome or physical disabilities and whatever. Obviously, I couldn't teach them serious fighting skills...what we taught them was basic stuff and Kata's but they had a great time and felt normal (whats normal anyway?). And when they were graded and moved up a belt, they'd get so happy and they'd get that sense of accomplishment everyone else gets when they do something.
Thats the exact same thing as the Special Olympics. Those kids/people worked hard to get there and that in it's self is an accomplishment. Just because some may look or talk oddly, doesn't mean they deserve to be made fun of.
Didn't you say that you were made fun of a lot and bullied in highschool? How did it make you feel? Why would you do it to someone else?
And before you say "Well, we don't have any 'retards' on the forum so it doesn't matter etc"...I'm sure someone here, whether they are a guest or a regular knows someone or has someone in their family who has some sort of disability. And I'm sure it hurts them.
Just because your not communicating face to face with people doesn't mean you can disregard good judgement and morality.

This is not the real world, judgment and morality is not needed here. Im free to tell all those bad joke I think about every day, those jokes we don’t dare to tell but we know we are all thinking it.
And as you have worked with them, I can understand you having a problem with the jokes, you could do like me and don’t relate to the real world as much then you are on the internet, just like I do.So it dose not have to be right. As the "right" you are looking for only applies in the real world.

I was bullied yes, but that was in the real world. Here it dose not matter.

that just doesn't add up for me! So racism is ok on the net too, just because this isn't the real world? I think the same moral standards apply on the net, why should it be different?
When it's okay here to make fun of challenged people, then it's okay to make fun about black people, World war II, midgets...I mean where does it end?
Imo people should use the same standards on the net as in real life...I'm not a saint, but when someone is offended and eplains this in a normal matter then it should be respected.

Okay, I have to admit, that was pretty damn funny. Sick, but funny. It's the expressions and the fact that you could really see the conversation play out like that, that make it so hilarious.

i agree with syco. making fun of handicapped people with the intent to hurt them is morally wrong, but the pictures above aren't meant to do that, they are a form of harsher internet humor(like the suicide/anti-god jokes in the epic thread) Some people might be offended by that, but that's the risk of going onto a board like this, where freedom of speech is taken quite litteraly.
The perfect example was supplied today by explosm.net
The joke involves a handicapped person, but it doesn't intentionally tries to hurt him.

They didnt choose for it true, but then you cant make jokes about race, about women or men, cause they didnt choose it either. A dumb blonde joke would be unacceptable according to that logic.
