Are you sure the Steam_AppId.txt name is correct. Have you made a txt file and renamed it to Steam_AppId? If you have file extensions hidden then your file's name will be Steam_AppId.txt.txt. Have seen many people make this mistake!

I have updated the guide to be much more simple, and included the patch #2. All settings and files are now in an archive, so there is no need for creating new files or modifying existing ones.

Ah! Turns out that I had named the Steam_AppId.txt file to Steam_AppId.txt.txt =). Stupid mistake. I can start the game with the loader now perfectly!

Basically, the preorder gives you some decent wargear from the start for the SP campaign, and some nice paints and colors for the army painter for skirmish and MP.

Some say it works, some say it doesn't. I tried patching a DLL from XP32, but it didn't work for the one that send it to me. At any rate, my release has the original content.bin as well, so if you have problems, you can always restore.

As I already mentioned before, for me it is working with .dll. Have you tried to install all available updates for windows and LIVE that come with the game ? LIVE installer required me to install additional hotfix otherwise not available via Windows Update.
Or maybe it is cause I have SP3 installed too.
EDIT: One more thing... I installed pre-order content before starting campaign.
EDIT2: The hotfix I mentioned is WindowsXP-KB938759-x86-ENU.exe |

Which is suprising because that .dll is for vista which makes no sense... but anyways since I can finally post.
Natan, how do you go about locating the offset for the function that you are editing in the dll? I am a newb hatter and I am just curious. I was able to open up the dll and locate the winverifytrust function in the dll file, and replaced it with hex values from:http://corsix.org/blogs/corsix
Any thoughts?
I'm running on xp 32. Then again coincidentally my video card bit it hard shortly there after and I need to get it warrantied.

I used a disassembler to find the offset of the function (I think it's done by using the DLL symbols) and hex edited.

Extracted the German files or downloaded them?
The archive(s) I uploaded only contains the patched files and thus requires the original data, I'm unsure how Vitality's installer works if you used that but just as you extract the English localization you can do the same for the other languages in order to get the full localization, failing that the "DOW2.ucs" file might perhaps be usable with the English files as it seems to be the "subtitles" for the game but this is untested.
