Whats wrong with it? I think it's better then downloading empire: total war demo from steam on the time of release at 60 kb/s. But anyway fileplanet sucks with their subscribers only shit.

If it is available for preloading, most chances are the demo is ready, so they just lock it for preload only to subscribers for money. That's what's wrong with it.

The demo will be unlocked on Tuesday march 03. So there is no gain other then you will not have to download at low speed.

It's for fileplanets preload.
They do this now and then and encrypt the download unlocking it once it's properly released, this might all be together with Ubisoft to increase Fileplanet subscribers as they also do the same for many beta "tests".
(Which mainly are for network stability though a small amount of the players do report actual bugs and issues.)

It's not about fileplanet. It's ubi who posted the current date. Ubi is notorious in fu.... up the pc players.

This was done by FP with the Medal of Honor Airborne demo, which was by EA. I believe IGN Entertainment just pays publishers to have the demos as exclusive for a period and then has this option to do this ugly stuff.

it's not dying. If you look at the list of current game list that will be released for pc you will see it's not dying. But companies like or other big companies want the pc gaming to die. Because they earn more on a console game then on pc game.

Just sounded like you thought it was. IMO all worthwhile console exclusives have been released on PC and for me who loves RTS and RPGs it's a great time on the PC right now.
I agree though that some companies want people to start using consoles only.

Damn you guys are such drama queens. Why do you care so much about the demo and about shitty Failplanet. Just wait for the full game.

Because, I for one, and sick of these fucking gimmicks....
Microtransactions, preloads, unlocks, fuck that. That shit doesn't fly with me and is nothing more than a gimmick to pull extra revenue.
I got half a mind to email them letting them know I'll be preloading their retail. They obviously don't respect our playermarket - why should we respect them?
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

nail on the head, thats exactly why i think its so retarded.
if its ready, just release it. theres no real need to preload a freakin demo of all things.

Or you guys can find out how their FTP servers work, get into them and grab the demo before it's released. I don't know how easy it still is or if they might have found a way to prevent it. They used to put the demo on their FTP but would rename it till release date so people wouldn't know what to look for.
What's funny is they don't know people use their own server for full applications and shit. My buddy sent me a link to some pirated fruityloops work station off the file planet server, made my giggle.

Fuck the bussisnes within publishers and sites like FL (file planet)
