Mugen is an open source fighting engine, and people can create fighters and arenas, and how these two interact in the gameplay. You can basically do anything 2D you want. Smile

The only problem is that most Mugen games are about quantity and not quality.

Personally, this is a first Quality Mugen game for me. lol

If a mod removed the link, do you actually expect someone to give you a link? Rolling Eyes

You can also see the guys website address in the youtube link posted, just click his name.
(Quite a few Mugen resources but not that many actual games, only grabbed this title and his version of Capcom vs SNK .)

EDIT: Should have clicked iNatans link before posting this, hehe. Very Happy

This is junk. Alpha/CvS sprites smoothened out and slapped together. Same as adding your own characters, don't bother.

And it's funny how the game is titled "HD" but game is optimized for 640x480 and will produce ugly ugly ugly stretch marks if set to a higher resolution, and I haven't even tested different aspect ratios.

The wait for SF4 continues. Very Happy

You can alter the Mugen.cfg file to set resolution and pretty much any other setting for the game.
(I don't have it installed anymore though, nice for a quick test but not really required as I have SNES and Mame emulators and most of the Roms including SF and other fighter games.)

EDIT: Seems you understand it better than I do, strange that you can't make it run in a windowed mode or something. (There's a option for it for the Linux version though.)

Yes, I know, that is what I meant by stretch marks. Wink

It doesn't even have a bilinear or bicubic resize algorithm, it seems it uses point stretch.

I feel like digging out my SNES and my SF2 and playing it. Still best SF game ever. Best graphics wise imo as well.
SF IV looks good but the graphics...i dunno. Thats why I don't like modern fighting games.

Old school Mortal Combat (1 and 2) and SF2 are my favs.

Street Fighter 2 is broken and retarded. O.Sagat vs. Bison sums up the game pretty much. The same can be said for most Capcom games as they blow at play testing. Roll cancels in CvS2 killed that game, etc. In terms of art quality I still think that 3rd Strike is the best due to the fluid animation. It's one of the reasons they opted for 3D in SF4 since they reached the limits of 2D sprites in the late 90's I guess.

I'm not really sure if that's true since the new KOF is looking great so far. Still prefer 2D sprites vs 3D any day of the week. SF4 feels a bit sluggish due to the 3D transition.

LOL, this is fucking stupid. It's just the sprites from older SF games, resampled in Photoshop. The real HD remix looks great, because they completely redrew all the frames of animation (and backgrounds, etc) in high resolution, from scratch.

Automatically resampling them does not add any detail to the images, and really just makes them look blotchy and weird. Completely lame.

As stated, it's copyrighted intellectual property. Not to mention the fact that this is not "original artwork." The idiot that made it just took the original sprites and resized them in Photoshop, with no real touch-up work.

^^ that and, to be honest, this is quite easily one of the WORST Mugen packs I've seen. It's too fast, too sketchy, no real polish and no sense of control. You constantly feel like you're flying around on wires or skating on ice.

Shit, this is just plain crap.

Gimme "Marvel vs Capcom 3" any day. Now THAT's a kick ass Mugen pack.
