Unless your console is very very old flashed like 2 years ago you probably have one of the new iXtremes, which means if RE5 is using this new protection you won't be able to even boot the game.

I had my liteon modded by someone else. He sent me my Key in a EMail. I know he had to do minor soldering to flash it or to extract the key. If I want to flash it to 1.6 will it need soldered again or was that just a one time thing to extract the key?

Yeah Yondaime you should be OK to play games using this new protection (or whatever to call it).

iXtreme (up to 1.5) allows only two versions of the video partition: the first version and the second (I think Crackdown was the first game to use the second version). Any other version is regarded as a bad rip and will not boot to save you from being banned. All that needs to be done is to update iXtreme's detection so it knows that this new video partition is OK.
This will happen in the upcoming iXtreme 1.6

They added NXE to the discs apparently , This is why the change has occurred

It's better that way Glottis. Makes me wait for the updated firmware which i don't have a problem with.
Seriously though even if it has the 3rd wave i will still download it and save it until i can actually do something with it.

General consensus atm is its just nxe with a different system update location
dunno bout halo wars but hawx and mlb both fit the criteria . heard 1.51 may be out tomorrow to accomodate the fix
1.6 will be 0800 / hitachi
