Game uses Steam for verification doesn't it? So you still have to enter the key via Steam and won't need the disc after installation is finished.
(Might never need it if you just take the key and download via Steam but it would probably be faster to use the disc.)

Yeah but some games have online activation AND disk copy protection. Rolling Eyes

It's a little bit dissapointing that steam dont bring their prices down (or it may even be the publisher who set them.)

£44.99 for the special ops version over steam in the U.K. I though the point of getting games digitally was the speed and the price. Delivering games via the net should be enough to bring anybodies overheads down shouldnt it?

The special forces editiion is £34.99 from Game with free delivery also and just £29.99 for the normal version. Steam or any other pure online etailer shouldnt be being beaten by that much in price surely?

Of course you are, the Price of Orange had a...well had his part part to play at the battle of Waterloo Smile. And the expression "Forlorn Hope" the 1st volunteers that went through a breach derives from a Dutch expression "Verloren hoop" basically a suicide commando Wink. The biggest losses for the Brits where at Badajoz (Wellingtons "Peninsula Campaign" Portugal/Spain) 2000 men where lost in 2 hours, the final count would be close to 5000, almost WWI figures.

Ahh for fucks sake, now there's no pre-load! Everyone in EU will be able to activate their game 1800 CET (no matter digital download or hardcopy), download itself will begin at 1800 CET I guess! I can't believe I payed extra for nothing, basically. I hate Steam, last time I buy a game from that shit.. Hopefully a pirated version will emerge tomorrow, before 18.00, at least then I don't have to stick with 100kb/s max.. fucking Steam.

There's no pre-load because they know that the pirate scene is just sitting around rubbing there hands together waiting for it so they can decrypt the pre-load and release it.

I just thought of a perfect easter egg that Creative Assembly could have put into the game. Pirate Total War game copies inside the cargo holds of pirate ships!

who cares anyway, w/o a proper AI mod this game is worthless anyway, like any other TW game ... and people who seriously can tell me they enjoyed any tw game VANILLA must be kinda strategicly challenged and enjoy having a chance vs AI (seeing how dumb the AI in vanilla is and always was).

And if the demo is ANY indication of AI noobness, then we're in for another ride of useless AI-ness.

I swear preload worked for me earlier today. Not that it matters, of course it still needs to be unlocked. It's so strange, I thought it worked for everybody but it seems to be only very few people.

i cant wait for this game

Although i never played the last one`s, and on this one the IA kicked my ass pretty bad xD

But the graphics, and gameplay looks awesome, this game if it has mp is gonna be a good one and very competitive i think

Fuck the tanks and helicopeters, lets bring the old times back i want to hear the screams saying "CHARGE->¿Reload? AND FIRE"

I hope the full version is not coming in "steam mode" because the shit "steam compressed fuck thing" makes the load time too damn long, like the demo per example.

I love this ¿rts?

It should have MP. Every other TW did...or atleast Medieval 2 TW did.
So this one probably will to.
I'm hoping it does so me and Cox can kick everyone's ass Razz Wink

thay annonced that the game have "innovative nver seem before multiplayer modes" Smile
also they announced CCOp/VS MP cmapaign in future patches

awesome Very Happy

oh, shut up
play the actual game first and whine then
i've been disappointed with the earlier ones aswell, but we can tell shit from the demo, other than it does some odd ambush attempts
besides, the demo was supposedly of old codebase

the AI may have never been the BEST in total war games... however that hardly makes the game "worthless"

Without rome there would be no RTR ... etc

Sure playing rome after RTR is pretty av... however imho it just improves on a solid base.

Total war games are nowhere near "Worthless"

i stand at my point, i never enjoyed a TW game vanilla. Others may have, but i dont see how. The AI was always the weak point of TW series, period. And thinking the AI will be better "out of the box" this time, is wishful thinking at best (they did fail 4 times in a row already).
