runs really sweet here too, better gfx than the console version. found it a lot easier to play without using the mouse and instead the up, down, left and right keys. need to buy another 360 controller, broke my last one.

So, basically, the only real complaint about the game is that it's too "Arcade" like?

Sounds awesome to me.

Last time I checked, the PC had a pretty serious drought of arcade flying titles .. instead concentrating on boringly (IMO! Put the flamethrower down, guys! Razz) realistic flight sims. Myself? I ADORE titles like Ace Combat, Crimson Skies and Weapons Over Normandy.

Could you please name a few recent ones.Last one I played was Flight Simulator X.

To be honest, I couldn't mate. I tend to avoid most PC flying titles unless they're specifically referred to as "arcade" (stuff like IL2 and FSX just bore the tits off me)

Well my main problem is that there haven't been any good flight sims for some time now. I'm not a big fan either, a friend of mine is searching for some new titles like crazy.
My biggest problem is the "high quantity" of cheap ports that actually take a step backwards instead of improving something.
As for Hawx...played the demo, everything maxed out AMD 5400+, 2GB RAM, HIS Radeon 4850 on 1280x1024 and it's nice to see a well optimized port. Glad to know the guys at Ubisoft Romania are still doing a fine job after the great Sillent Hunter series.

yea nicely optimized demo, ground graphics are pretty good, explosion effects arent that impressive, bunch of cheap sprites imo...

it's nicely playable with a mouse and keyboard which it should for an arcade game.

Actually, i got used to expert(or how is it called, not normal)ass off mode and it's pretty useful, i must say, though sometimes (when there's a lot of fog) you have to switch to ass on mode just to realise where you're going, and sometimes it's too late - 'BOOM'.

yes you can (use "c" to toggle pov's in normal mode)

ran perfectly fine here too. Have to say i enjoyed. Its obviously very arcadish, but thats good imo. And also i agree playing with keyboard only is easier. Mouse is weird with this one.

Don't know if you guys already figured this out, but when you keep the fire missile button pressed the camera follows your missile in 3rd person until impact.

Just had a little go with this, looks and plays really well, although i don't know about that outside the cockpit view, holding left will no longer rotate the jet left if held in the outside view but just make it do a left turn.

try turning left and then pull the down key...just like a flight stick u know? like in a..er.. plane Rolling Eyes

Even on expert its bit too arcadey, at least i hope it gets a good story but..meh..no more strike/wing commanders Crying or Very sad

The combination that works for me here is to fly on the cockpit, ant get out on the no assist or whatever they call it (LCTRL) to dodge the missiles Cool works great this way.
