FreePlay is a meeting ground where you can chat with and challenge other players from around the world to play in a wide selection of arcade games with minimal, often undetectable lag.

Top 10 games played :

1. Street Fighter III 3rd Strike: Fight for the Future
2. The King of Fighters 2002 - challenge to ultimate battle
3. The King of Fighters '98 - the slugfest
4. Street Fighter II' - champion edition
5. Street Fighter Alpha 3
6. Super Street Fighter II Turbo
7. Garou - mark of the wolves
8. Hyper Street Fighter 2: The Anniversary Edition
9. Street Fighter Alpha 2
10. Marvel vs Capcom - clash of super heroes

To get started

1. Install .NET Framework 3.5
2. Create an account
3. If using FireFox, Install the FFClickOnce plugin
4. Launch the 2DF FreePlay Client

(Do not download the .application file! If using Internet Explorer, the application will automatically launch when clicking the launch link on the website. If using FireFox, you must select "Run ClickOnce Application".)

Note: For best performance, use a wired internet connection. Wireless connections will often result in dropped games.

How does it work?

You use the 2DF FreePlay Client to connect to the 2DF FreePlay Server. After challenging or accepting a challenge from another player in the game of your choice, the game is automatically launched and the players automatically connected. No need to worry about mismatching emulator versions or swapping IP addresses.
Features

* Instant replays.
* Private messaging.
* Detailed stat tracking (wins/losses, character usage, matchup probabilities, etc.)
* Automated player rating system.
* Ignore harassing players.
* P2P connection for best performance.

If you have any questions on how to get it to work, check out the FAQ :

I guess its personal choice, that you like ggpo better. 2dfighter supports more games, and imo there are more EU and US people on 2dfighter too. On ggpo I see alot of japanese, chinese and korean people, needless to say I get 200ms to those players at best. Most of the time its 300 or 400ms, on top of that I don't understand or speak Japanese, Chinese or Korean.

I installed both matchmaking tools, always happy to expand opponent list. Smile

Play Scarlet Weather Rhapsody. it's a tohou game (usually curtain shooters) and whilst i'm no anime fan, it happens to be a great fighting game.
