uhm , would it be adviseable to skip the patch and wait a few days for the retail expansion to hit the net? since the patch is 1GB and pirates would be interested more in the SP content of the expansion.

Seeing as how the patch doesn't require a crack .. I see no reason to skip it, unless you're being capped by your ISP and 1GB is too much to download.

yeah ive got a cap.... thing is i can wait a little, if the expansion pack is the very same thing, with the same fixes , no secorom + the single player content i might just wait for the actual expansion pack.

The upcoming expansion *should* also include this new patch ... but what makes me pause is that the patch specifically mentions that it's "to ready the game FOR the expansion" -- so let's just hope the expansion disk has the patch bundled, else you're SOL :-\

I have a problem: The first mission is russian but then it starts the USA campaign again. I don't wanna play through it again.
Is there a way to play just the russian missions?

This worked on original WiC, don't know if its still valid...

No, you have to play throughout the campaign to play the Russian missions.
The reason for it is because the missions are spread out. Sometimes you might have two American missions, then a Soviet mission.

WTF? seriously, WHAT THE FUCK?
in the main game, the ruskies invade the USA and you play the americans - in the expansion, the ruskies invade the EU and you play the side of mother russia. sure there are ties between both lame excuses for storylines, but alternating missions on different sides AND fronts? come on. in every RTS game in existence you play different sides one after another, it just works that way. in starcraft, did they force you to play one terran mission, then a zerg one, then protoss, then zerg, then protoss, then maybe terran again? no. cause blizzard actually has humans sitting in the game design department instead of a monkey with ADHD

the russians invade the EU in the main game as well, before they invade the US.
I don't see what the problem is.

it's the way the story is tied in to the original wic so what's there to complain about? if you just want to play the soviet missions then unlock it and play it.
