Cry-Engine 3 announced.
(Cry harder. <- Bit silly actually but you're computer will definitively feel it assuming it's not all console friendlified or whatever to call it with less demanding and thus worse looking visuals and stuff like that to accommodate the next generation consoles, albeit that might still put quite a strain on most of the PC's out at that time.)

The word you are looking for is "streamlined." Very Happy

Let me picture you the next few years: They will show some amazing video, claim it runs on todays hardware no problem, but will run breathtakingly on next generation (but today's mere hardware is enough to enjoy the engine). Then expect delays, some more delays, a bit more, yet once again. Then you will get a game that runs pathetically bad on the then-current DX11 hardware. "We promised future proof, didn't we?" And three months later, Crysis no longer will be coming to the PC, as PC gaming is clearly dead (because of piracy indeed indeed), console gaming is the future! Embarassed

Kinda looks like Crysis though some scenes are a bit more complex and it seems to run better.

Don't forget the first vids we all saw from the original Crysis too, mate. It looked stunning and ran like a dream ----- and then compare to the final product Razz Very Happy

Is it just me or does it actually look shittier than the older one. The only impressive things shown like god rays, dynamic foliage have already been shown in Crysis. The rest indoor scenes look more like Unreal 3.

You mean like almost every FPS-developer?

Pre-rendered shit is so common, it's silly.

It looks worse than Crysis, and far behind what as been made with Cryengine2 (seeing what the community as done with it)
I belief it´s just C2 dumbed for console hardware - Labeling it Cryengine3 is marketing trick.. a very low one.

From Incrysis.com

"IGN has the honour to show us the first CryENGINE 3 technology demonstration video! This 'GDC 2009 Presentation' video features PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 gameplay footage with assets from Crysis, which, according to IGN, does not necessarily mean a Crysis game is being made for consoles. At the end of the video we might have just gotten a glimpse of the new non-Crysis game currently in production. The game looks to have a medieval theme."

Thank GOD that video footage is really from consoles. But now when im thinking its pretty impressive graphics for xbox360 and PS3. I think Cryengine 3 is some console version from CE2 ^^

millions of "no life dumb asses" that call themselves "gamers" will buy "brand new" expensive hw just to play that 1 over hyped game Smile
but it would take 2-3 (at least) generations of hw to actually make game playable at higher res/AA modes
developers + hw manufacturers = WIN!!!Fatality!!!Flawless victory!!! Smile

Doesn't darkc0der's paul.dll work with 1.1 too? I think it did, but I could be mistaken.

I'm running the latest Warhead patch and the cracked PAUL.DLL ... and I get the same error as Ricaspecada; except when running the game DIRECTLY from Crysis64.exe.

Works perfectly then. x64 OS FTW. Smile

Yes but the problem is when running the 64-Bit version the game can NOT use Triple Buffering from Rivatuner's D3DOverrider making the game more slow compared to 32-Bit...

Sorry, correction: Crysis.exe (in the Bin32 folder) AND Crysis64.exe (in the Bin64 folder) BOTH load the game perfectly. ^_^

Are you sure your using v1.1.1.710 crysis.exe?
AFAIK, there's no 1.1 no-cd available. So, PAUL.DLL method won't work alone...

Pffft, s'not my fault people can't search properly and then whine about something not existing Razz

I'm running the very latest Warhead patch, as well as the hotfix for x64, and using a cracked PAUL.DLL file -- working flawlessly.

With original EXE? That's odd... Just installed Warhead + 1.1 patch (no hotfix) + paul.dll, but no go.
They removed the dvd-check?

No, not with an original EXE. With a cracked one + paul.dll combo.

Here's to prove the 32bit version works as well;

A 1.0 EXE or a patched EXE?

Been a while since I played the game but from what I remember the version number is controlled from one of those files in a .pak container and not the EXE itself though the EXE is fairly small so you're not missing much by using a older version of it.
(Most engine stuff seems to be controlled via those .dll files.)

From what I can tell, the Crysis64.exe file is the MAIN executable (under x64, naturally) with the Crysis.exe basically being the loader. The "loader" (for lack of a better word) is 1.1.1.690, which is an older crack. It then loads the official, untouched, Crysis64.exe (1.1.1.711) and plays perfectly.

Crysis.exe (Bin32) is the same; 1.1.1.690, which also loads the game correctly (and as evidenced IS actually running 1.1.1.711)

OK, now I get it... Very Happy

But I'm using 32-bit Windows and 1.1 patch updates the crysis.exe to 1.1.1.711 and there's no fixed exe to v1.1.1.711. But, updated Warhead works with an older exe also. So, that's that.
