Just extract it over and use a so called "steam loader" like Revolution 2.0 to "emulate" a Steam connection in order to trick the game and start it.
(Thinks it's running via a legit Steam account, not fully accurate but best way to describe it.)

Instructions on how to do this were posted earlier in this thread, unsure if one can link to the actual loader though as it's kinda like a crack.
(Albeit it's closer to Daemon Tools and utilities like YASU and those can apparently be linked to.)

Also don't forget the previous patches if required. Smile

Just started playing with Darthmod .2 yesterday - great timing on the fucking patch.

On the plus side, Battlefield Smoke+Blood+Sound mod, along with Darthmod v.2 make it like a whole new game - actually getting my ass kicked now. Can't say I agree with him nerfing Line Infantry accuracy to 20, but other than that, the AI tactics are a hell of a lot better.

I thought the Darthmod was an AI-only mod.

What's the reasoning behind that nerfing? It's crazy. It's half the original value, and has one of two equally unacceptable side effects:

A) If he didn't tweak the accuracy of other (especially lesser) units, then partisan rabble would be considerably more accurate than well-trained, professional line infantry. Elite units would be immensely more powerful, in turn. Both aspects are ridiculous.

OR

B) If units have been tweaked according to the Line Infantry nerf (which'd mean halving all accuracy stats), then every single unit below Line Infantry in quality would be utterly useless, being unable to hit an elephant at point-blank range.

Glottis is right.

I've been reading a bit more about the mod, but I'm a bit confused about the range and accuracy changes. Seems ranges have been extended, but accuracy left untouched since distance takes care of reducing it at long range (so far, so good). I haven't found anything about Line Infantry having 20 accuracy.

However, if it had those figures and extended range, then battles would become a micromanagement hell. Unless you manually controlled the 'Fire at Will' setting of all your Line Infantry units all the time (which would be near impossible in big battles, considering cavalry and other unit types), they'd waste a lot of ammo before inflicting noticeable damage.

You don't need razor release to enable special units, there are there in vanilla version, I think there's a post somewhere in this thread with instructions to enable special units.

wow this game is worse than addiction. yesterday I finally set out to play the grand campaign. Two hours in, my 2 year old jumped onto my lap and wanted me to put some nursery rhyme video. I refused and she hit some keys which caused the game to crash. I slapped her on the face, and her lips are now all swollen. Now she refuses to come near me and my wifey's stopped talking to me. I fear a nasty divorce coming along soon. I wonder if I should try to play it again tonight!!!!

Child abuse makes a poor joke.

Anyways.. I've been playing multiplayer and it seems that either I am really good or most players are really bad (or both I suppose). I just finished a game where my ally thought it was a good idea to rush the Brits that were sitting on the starting hill. He quickly gets wiped out before the 2nd enemy and I even fully engage. I ended up taking both on and actually won. They just had no common sense on the battlefield.

Can anyone confirm Prophet's release is free of all bugs that Razor got and 100% working with no need to patch or something?

Its a simple question, answer yes or no.

Not surprising since that's mostly the answer people give here on this thread... Hard to buy a copy of this game this early... savegame bugs, AI problems etc.

That's true but in this game they're not minor like pathfinding or just poor tactics (which the game is riddled with), dude they don't do naval landings... weird. Also the savegame bug, wherein the game CTD's during an AI turn and forces you to either load from an older save or worse, restart.

Anyway, I'm not saying the game is bad. God knows I've spent a hella'lot of time with this game. So you better start brushing those backside teeth of yours... ^.^

Well mr Ritchie Ive had one crash to desktop since ive played ETW, so A) Im either lucky, or B) My backside teeth are rather polished and shiny..

Either way "dude", im not sure what you mean by they dont do naval landings, but ive dissembarked troops plenty of times off a ship.. Maybe you should change captain to one that can steer more than a rubber dingy.... Very Happy

100%
Simply choose the army onboard your ship (close to a coast line) drag them over with your mouse (you should see that the mouse cursor changes to a little guy or something like that) to the area of land you want them to land on and...viola!.

after copying the crack over, delete all the patch_xx.pack files, except for the language you want to have in the \data folder

I was talking about the AI... ever notice that you can stay "safe" if you own at least one island city? That's because the AI doesn't use ships to transfer troops...
Play moar mr. noodles.
You're so defensive about your spent money that you don't see these things. Read some posts on TWC and be enlightened oh master TW'er.

The past games were similar with this problem as well they would rarely attack islands and some of them I could swear never got attacked once... so its really to be expected I guess. A shame they didn't fix this problem though. However if you find yourself to be pushed back to a single island then this game probably isn't for you anyways.

Dude I'm pointing out the AI deficiency to noodles... and you said it yourself, in past games they rarely attack you but they still do, here they don't. I'm sure it'll all get fixed in the future but for now it's not an investment I'm ready to make yet especially since I can play it just like you guys who bought it with the help of other members here who actually try to help instead of blurting out "buy the &^%$& game!".
I know the feeling of wanting to defend your purchase to freeloaders who get almost the same content as you... so I understand.
