No problems running Dark Sector (avenged) on Win7 Ultimate build **** x64. A little simplistic game play (consolitis?), glaive is cool.
PowerColor Radeon HD 4870 1GB PCS+ (820/1010), Catalyst 9.3 for Win7, Intel E8200 @ 3.6Ghz, 4GB OCZ Reaper (1080Mhz , 5-5-5-15), Asus Maximus Formula, 1680*1050 on Samsung T220.

Actually Dark sector uses Digital extremes own graphics engine called "the Evolution Engine". But it looks exactly the same as UE3 -_-
And now for my question: Why the fuck every game has some problems with widescreen resolutions. 1920x1080 is streched, not 16:9 ... anyone else gets this?

Yup, same problem here. It's stretched both in 16:10 and 16:9 ARs. Very weird, usually going to 16:9 eliminates stretching but not here.

I played a bit of the cracked and semi-translated Russian version and don't remember any stretched aspects of the screen such as the hud or even the FOV itself.
Does ATI/NVIDIA screen scaling affect anything, I have it on maintain aspect ratio mode so perhaps that's why?

I've noticed no stretching etc., 1680*1050 works perfectly fine here.

Are you sure? Take a pic with crosshair visible and we'll see. If it's oval and not a perfect circle = stretching.

The wrong FOV is the 4:3 one. The game was designed with consoles in mind, thus the correct FOV is the one you see on 16:9 resolutions (the same would be seen by someone playing on the 360). 4:3 just expands vertically. This is the 10000000th time someone complains about the same issue on a console port, not realizing the problems is with the 4:3 resolution. Or do you want them to cut the sides so you'd feel better knowing 4:3 guys see less?

Indeed... the circular "crosshair" is somewhat oval, which means the picture has been stretched vertically from 16:9 to 16:10. The difference is small enough to be unnoticeable unless you're looking for it. I'd hate to see the 4:3 version. Very lame though, seems the developers couldn't figure out how to expand the actual rendering surface vertically. Bah!

Game is fun. Runs great, looks good, super fast load times. Interesting story.
It's a lot like GoW like people said, but I loved GoW so it's good to me.
