Sorry, but this game sucks bigtime. Controls can't be changed, GFX can't be changed, pedestrians can't be killed Very Happy... What a ratio-waster.

What a sweet game this is, this is even more fun then the demo! nice gameplay... missions are fun, nice cutscenes...

the city looks pretty good, and the cars aswell, never tough the UE 3.0 could make an open world game look decent...

8/10 game for me.

And it runs awesome for an open world game Very Happy

Had the same thing, driving along and then all of a sudden shit no road and you just drop like a stone and die. I'll assume it does the same bullshit streaming as any other UE3 game.

well the road didnt dissapear here yet, lol.

but yeah i think the pausing\suttering is because the streaming used on ue3 like other games using that engine, but i dont get any pausing if im walking\sprint or doing on foot missions, it must be the engine because when you drive fast it needs to stream\load whatever the map, and it causes the pausing.

besides this the game runs smooth with alots explosions and cars and shooting, shame that while driving it causes some pausing, because the driving in this game is sweet...

edit- it seems some ppl dont have any pausing... strange.... maybe some quad core issues? or ati driver related?

Sad

That "falling through disappearing roads" bug (both for you and for NPCs) is mentioned in a few reviews. Lets hope they fix it in a patch, but considering this is Midway, chances are slim... Smile

NO!!! NOT AGAIN!!! What I mean to say is that I also got the stuttering when driving Sad I also had this problem with Gears of War (never found a solution) but in Gears it went away when I bought a new Nvidia Gfx card (not that the old card was obsolete or anything, but it was an ATI card).

This game is not that bad and it runs great except for that annoying stutter. If somebody finds a solution I would really like to hear it. Peace out! Smile

stutter = streaming errors = Hdd reading errors or Ram reading errors or Graphic ram reading errors or Sound drivers error

pick one

Yeah I have a 9800GT, chances are it's a speed issue with the game as if you drive slowly it's fine. the faster you get the more the loading

if the engine is same as gears of war, there was a variable that once modified in gears of war ini files it would eliminate the stuttering. Most likely thats the same case with this game.

This should be the same engine as Gears of War as it is Unreal 3 engine, now if I can only find that variable for the ini file...

You mean the smooth FPS variable that tries to keep framerate constant?
(Default value is 22 to 62 FPS)

Try here.
http://www.tweakguides.com/UT3_7.html

It's this value by the way - "bSmoothFrameRate="

That's the one. I have searched Wheelman installation folders for .ini files and the only one I was able to find is Coalesced.ini which is present in \Wheelman\PC\WheelmanGame\Config.
Unfortunately it does not contain a value called "bSmoothFrameRate=" Sad the file however contains a shitload of lines with the word "streaming" in them. I'm guessing that one can mess with those but I'm not gonna do it as I'm a noob when it comes to Unreal engine settings Smile

Generally you should never edit the default INI files in the game installation directory, instead check the user based files.

For Vista that would be somewhere in the following folders.

C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents
(Documents and Settings on XP, company or game name folder follows the above.)

The above directory plus "My Games" folder
(Also followed by company or game name.)

The above but instead of \Documents it's \Application data\
(Or AppData for Vista then followed by either local or roaming and finally company or game name folder.)

It seems the suttering\pausing is indeed ATI related, since all people reporting this problem have an ati card, and the ppl who says it runs fine has an nvidia card....

Uninstalled it after 5 minutes. Seriously, the keyboard controls can't be remapped and the default configs are the worst possible combinations ever, were they designed by someone who's hands got stuck in a lawnmower?

Well Actually I do, I but I have not installed it yet (thinking about doing it this weekend), but anyway, I have currently Wheelman installed on a Core2Duo E6300 and I have this stuttering issue which reminds me of the way Gears of War behaved when I played it on a pc with a ATI1950 Pro 512 Mb card.
