It's a very good game, the AI is very aggressive.
Unfortunately the widescreen aspect ratio is completely wrong.

P.S.: it works on Windows 7 x64.

I played 4 levels worth and uninstalled.

Graphics look good but the gameplay didn't do it for me.
Things were getting a bit too repetitive for my liking.

Question: I'm at level 5 (I think) and got a message that I could charge the glaive with energy (fire etc.) and then when thrown, detonate that charge by tapping the mouse button. However, when I try doing that the character just shoots. Any ideas?

Was posted before in this thread, don't remember exactly how it was answered but I think you need a source for the type of energy you want to charge the glaive with first such as fire (Burning objects?) or electricity (Cables?)

First you charge your Glaive up with an element (Fire or Electricity)
Then you throw it - Press "T" to blow it up, when the time is right.

Enjoy.

I know I'll sound desperate, but is there a way to manually fix the bad aspect ratio/fov ?

If only you guys hadn't pointed out the issue I'd probably never have noticed but now that I know... Very Happy

At the moment I'm playing with a 4:3 resolution but I hope Aspyr will release a patch to fix the problem.
However I think I'll buy it for the X360, it deserves.

I highly doubt there will be a patch, looks like I'll have to play in 4:3 res too, just like old games Sad

For those hoping for an aspect-ratio fix, keep an eye on WSGF. The users there are all avid WS gamers and often find hacks or workarounds in order to add proper, or at least as close as possible, WS to games that don't have native support.

When I went up to my 24" 1680 display, I spent a bit of time on their Wiki looking for fixes. I even found one for DE-Invisible War ^_^

I have taken a look at 360gameplay and its true. 16:10 is the correct fov. There should be lblack bars thats why its stretched up.

Anyway. 16:10 shows same screen as 360 one.
4:3 resolutions shows too much. You cant see players legs on 360 and 16:10

but You can see them on 4:3

Yeah, this has been true for almost all of latest games, especially the direct ports. But it doesn't matter how many times you slap people with the truth, their can't let go of their stupid stereotypes, that 4:3 must show less than the wide variants. Smile Gives them reasons to bitch more. Razz

Widescreen is completely broken: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15794 FOV seems to be corrent, but there is horrible stretching and UI cut off at 16:9 which is supposed to be the best AR for this game. But somehow they managed to make it the worst on PC.

I compared the X360 demo on my 16:10 monitor and on the PC the widescreen resolutions are however too much vertically stretched.

Does anybody know if the russian version has the same problem?

Played a bit past prologue, once colors finally arrive... I gotta say I'm liking the game so far, it's obviously over-inspired by GoW but cutscenes and the glaive add a really nice touch...

BUT this is again UE3 engine at work... and... bloom... bloom... to much bloom...
I quickly checked the config files but I can't find the usual UE3 .cfg...

It's a shame because other than that I really think this game has a very nice design, textures, character design is incredible...

But the aspect ratio is my n°1 priority of course, even though that looks really tough to fix other than with a patch...

It's not running on the Unreal Engine.

If it were, you'd see a big logo at start up indicating so.

This must be one of the best console to pc ports I've seen in years. Incredibly high and stable framerate, great controls and enough customization options. Kudos to whoever did the job, all the other developers doing shitty ports of console games could learn a few things from this.

textures are much worse then console versions, for some reason everytime the game does a load, it goes back to windows and back to game again very fast, only allows to change resolution...

is this a good pc port? Rolling Eyes NOT!

Yes, it's an excellent conversion: also the controls, using the X360 joypad, are better than the console version.

I have to admit that after some time spent with the game I prefer the 4:3 aspect ratio on the PC instead of the widescreen on the X360, it's less claustrophobic.

ok, if the textures are worse or not this is a crappy port anyway, and i forgot to mension... the 16:9 resolutions in this game have some kind of problem.

and yes too me it looks alot better on x360, textures on PC looks like its on medium settings... we dont even know what settings are by default since the game only allows to change resolution Laughing

You need to exit the vehicle; If I remember correctly this is done by pressing "X" or "Z".
Then run up the stairs and into the building.

If the textures look medium to you, then there must be something wrong with your version on your system, post some screenies.

I have the xbox 360 version as well and don't see a remarkable difference in textures, doesn't look better or worse.

I also think they adjusted the difficulty for pc gaming. Usually console ported shooters are ridiculously easy because aiming is a 1000 times more precise with a mouse then with a gamepad. I'm playing Dark Sector on medium and it's ok, not very difficult but not too easy either.

Well, if it doesnt work you got two choices.
1. Click every key on the keyboard.
2. Check the Key Settings

But if I remember correctly it's "X" - Wont promise anything though.
