Developed by Eugen Systems, R.U.S.E is set to refresh the strategy genre, introducing deception techniques that will let you bluff your enemy to lead your nation's army to victory. Camouflage your troops, lure your opponent with decoy units, sabotage his logistics: strategy has never been so intuitive and deep.
R.U.S.E features cutting edge graphics and effects, the incredible IRISZOOM Engine, immersive combat and a simplified interface that allows you to determine your nation’s strategy and fight to defeat your enemies.
When I was wathching that 4part demo from GDC I thought that the zooming looks ok (not great as they should fine tune unit scaling when zoomed in as they are still too big), but other than that, it's as over simplified as it can be. That intelligence gameplay doesn't look too impressive to carry the game on it's back (zooming is just eye-candy, gameplay will determine the staying-power of the title) and the actual battles seem awfully bland.
Another typical Ubi title. Takes one (maybe two) gameplay element(s), make them decent and pretty much forget about the rest of the game and just fill the resulting void with bland and tasteless gameplay. It was the same with EndWar (voice-commands, whoop-de-fucking-doo ), Assassin's Creed (amazing atmosphere and character-movement technology, but boring, unimaginative and afwully repetitive gameplay), FarCry2 (freedom, with nothing to do with it). The only recent decent games from them were BIA:HH and HAWX, even though that became boring after a few hours as well (for me at least, not even MP kept me going).
I'm already concerned about Silent Hunter 5, even though it hasn't been announced yet. I can only hope they'll give the Romanians a free hand after they made HAWX a decent game.
BTW, about my other topic, I wasn't drunk. I asked djaoni to delete his post so I can delete my thread, but he went to sleep or something, and people commented in the meant time.
Some engine details, up to a billion polygons per map (Not on screen altogether though.) and it's very multi-core friendly or what to call it. (i7 used for testing, used 8 cores.)

The keys that start with RUSE-xxxx are just invites. Activate it on Ubi's beta site, and they'll send you a Steam key.
well, dunno what good it will do tho. i send them an email for the key aswell, havent even got an answer yet (you know like "patience, will send you asap" or anything. Hope they still consider giving out the steam keys ...
finally got the time to play some games and well .. not my cup of tea .. its very camper oriented (every single game i played was basicly the same lol ...my enemy would sit there and turtle to no end, while i was trying to attack and got smacked around ...)
Anyway, way WAY too camperish for me. Scaling is nice i guess, but like in Supreme Commander, you just end up watching a bunch of icons moving around on the screen , since zooming in just isn't of any use :/
