Does Vin Diesel play with RDFG instead of ZQSD? Did they put that in to be non-conformist? The other possible config is even worse for an EU keyboard, WQSD? moving forward is a button almost next to shift :/

Also, it's hilarious how many times I accidentally pressed S instead of d only to jump out of the vehicule, often failing a mission because I "can't keep up" Laughing

Sorry if this has already been mentioned ... but has anyone else noticed the license plates on the cars/bikes? A lot of them are from old Midway titles Very Happy

Here's just a couple;

W4R G0D5
MKV DCU
MRBL MDN5
KLR INST
RD2 R8RL
SP1 HNTR

As for the game itself; Pretty fun so far, but like almost all GTA-clones; it WILL get boring quickly. Graphics are nice, sorely needs AA (going to force enable it) and has ZERO configure options except for resolution. What the shit is with the recent spate of non-configurable games? It all smacks of half-assed ports.

Controls on a keyboard and mouse are HORRID, absolutely fucking horrid. Anyone who thinks that it feels "natural" to control car-melee attacks with the mouse needs to have their bloody heads examined. Gamepad game ALL the way.

=Edit=

As JB pointed out, there are also a number of Ubisoft titles too! ^_^

I thought they were Ubisoft titles.
(Splinter Cell was fairly easy to notice unless it's supposed to be another title.)

Controls also work pretty well here but mouse-melee attacks are a bit tricky as it's very sensitive and why the hell doesn't it work by just smashing into other cars as that's kinda what melee attacks do (But a bit quicker). Very Happy

Some of the special attacks are also a bit funny albeit it's kinda hard to swallow that a pistol can take out three heavy vehicles in three precise hits to the front.
(Though I suppose jumping from one moving vehicle to another isn't that realistic either and it's a arcade action title and not some crime simulator or such.)

They're most likely a mix, being both from Ubisoft and Midway (the above-named titles are all Midway games, like MK vs DCU, Marble Madness and even the excellent N64 title; War Gods)

I love little touches like this! Rather than just a plate that says your nickname or even the game title, I like little easter-eggs instead Very Happy

Guys, if you wanna play with a pad and don't have a 360 one, just use XBOX360 Controller Emulator v3.0. Works wonders for this and other games that are locked out to 360 pad only.

I'm fucking stuck on mission 'green cross code', you have a stolen car and you need to use back alleys to stay hidden from the cops but the only alley that leads anywhere is blocked by cops from both sides, don't know where to go anymore I tried everywhere if you stay on the main road a while the mission is over because the pigs have spotted you.

It works here, it shows some cops standing in a window and Vin Diezel looking at them. Don't get what the fail is though.

just finished the game, they let you free roam after you finish the story, kinda pointless side missions are boring
the main story was very fun I enjoyed it, vin knows how to give games a cinematic feel, and this one is a pure action movie
story ain't that involving but it serves its purpose, it is intended to be cheesy and full of action and it delivers well
ign review is retarded they pick on very unimportant facts like air jacking a car being very unrealistic (hello? it's a fucking game god damn it not a sim) the only point I agree with in the ign review is the fact that you get SPAMMED with enemies yes you do, enemy vehicules pop out of nowhere behind you and if they have automatic rifles then say good bye to that car and pray there is a near by passing car you can air jack and they LET you air jack it, because sometimes it just doesn't work no matter what
cops are a bitch to lose, they keep spamming you with cop vehicules too that come out of the blue, you can't out run them, you can only destroy them and once that's done at least another 4 cars pop up especially at the end mission that was a bitch to lose the cops
if you play this and expect mafia then fuck off and go re play mafia, if you throw your brain out the window and want a fun action game then this is the one for you
shooting sequences are poor, IA just stands and shoots and waits for you to shoot it, and recoil is over used in this game if you're using a UZI then it's a bitch to shoot, I recommend a rifle wether AK or M4/M16 or the m60-like gun, shotguns are useless

I never knew UE3 engine could work in a driving game let alone an open world one

my two cents

just drive them to the car bombs and you'll get rid of some but it's pretty useless as more will pop up instantly, just go to a long road and destroy the ones annoying you quickly without stopping and when that's done evade the red circle and don't move, because if you move you might encounter more cops, wait a few moments till the stars clear up and then go to the garage

Huh, that's not the mission I don't have car bombs this is the one where you drive the stolen car and you can't even stop on the main road, not for long anyway, your brakes don't work as well only the handbreak.

oh that mission , just stay in alleys and go to the main road when it's clear ( towards the goal at GPS)
that's how I did
stay clear of the blue dots and keep your distance

You probably tried this but have you done side missions to unlock extra stuff like bonus vehicle health, weapon caches and garages?
(Seems each task type is related to a specific bonus.)

lol I finished the game without doing a single side mission, I never pay attention to side missions since they tend to be very basic and repetitive as hell

Hehe, I thought they were somewhat necessary in order to get better equipment and upgrades required to survive later missions.
(Garages might not be super useful but deadlier weapons plus more health before your vehicle gets destroyed would be helpful I assume.)

That said yes they are very basic and repetetive. Very Happy

I uninstalled the game after I finished it so I don't know if the sound files used in the game are playable format, try exploring the folders till you find "sound" folder
