New patch, some smaller fixes and corrections.
EDIT: Updated files, also includes the updates to the shader file so it's compatible with the previous patch changes, by default it's a bit modified to remove the character pixelation but I included the original file.
(These are for use with a Steam loader or similar by the way.)
For the rev loader program the AppId is 9480

Is there a version with the random streaker pixelation gone?

Previous page, last reply - Sorry but there's no conventional patches for Steam as it updates the files directly and thus it requires workarounds like that.
(Best would be to modify the EXE and strip out the Steam requirements altogether but that's not something I could do so at the moment a loader is needed to use the updated files.)

Thanks for the reply, doesn't sound like it's all to easy,I will keep my eye out anyway and hopefully some release group might bring some work around out.

Installation itself is pretty easy as you just copy the files to the game directory but you then need to use a loader program to bypass the Steam check and launch the game so yeah it's not as easy as just copying over the files and begin playing, at least not until someone manages to crack the EXE properly.

@JBeckman
Do you use SMD or SteamUp! to start the game?
If so, do you have the NCFs files for the Update 2?

Actually I'm nearly certain your PM never arrived for some reason but I also had that problem that I now mention in my "signature" (Will remove soon as I guess most people know about it by now.)
If you could it would be a good idea to resend it if possible, sorry for any problems this might cause.

After spending a bit of time playing the pc version of saints row 2,I can't get passed how ugly the graphics are,I am actually thinking about buying the console version, either the ps3 or xbox 360 version, does anyone know if the console versions are any better graphics than this pc port we got,or are they just as bad,I am curious if someone has acually played both the pc and console versions to say for certain if the console versions are any better.

they look the same, even have the same bugs BUT when the PC game crashes it goes to desktop and when the console version crashes its freezing your console so hard only a hardboot reset can fix it (this game and Bully are RROD games LOLZ) they loop the gfx processes so much it can lead or make a RROD (don't believe me then read up on the net)

Thanks Spiderman,it sounds like all versions of this game are bad,you know I remember playing the first saints row 1 on the xbox 360,and I swear that game had better graphics than this part 2,I don't have the game anymore but I am sure saints row 1 looked leaps and bounds better than saints row 2 from memory.
It's beyond me what they must of been thinking when they released saints row 2 in the poor state it was in,and still is.

Yeah PC and 360 versions look the same, but PC version runs horribly, it's so much better to play it on 360. And about graphics, they are pretty much like in the first game, but in SR2 they added nasty bloom and vignette effect making everything look muddy. SR1 didn't have any of that and it looked clean.

Yeah so the pc and 360 versions look the same, but your saying the 360 version runs better, when you say plays better do you mean the 360 version has a more stable framerate.
I see what you mean, the first game didn't have the bloom effects, which is why it looked better,it had a really clean look about it.
It's amazing how the people who made saints row 2 must of thought they were making it look better by adding the bloom effect, and all they did was make it look worst and run horrible.

Yes, 360 has more stable framerate and better controls, but someone mentioned that you can adjust PC controls to be more like console version.

I have a issue. When i install the Razor release and when i enter the game then the menu is so screwed that it wont let me do anything there. The up arrow seems to like stuck and the choosing just keeps moving up but i havent touched the keyboard. When it is over the right thing and i press enter then it just freezes and thats that. The music keeps going but no key works. What seems to be the problem. Another screwed release from Razor... Tisk Tisk..
