Hi,
I need to view some videos only available to people using Australian ISPs.
I've been told I could use an Australian Proxy - but there doesn't seem to be any active ones...
Is there any other way into fooling a website you're coming from a Australian ISP?

I got sick of looking for working proxies... nothing ever worked... Years ago I used to get lists and lists of them that were all for most part good but these days I hardly find one that lets me use it..

What are you trying to watch? If the videos aren't to large I could download them myself and upload them to somewhere else.

hey, they're streaming videos from ten.com.au - television programs that are on demand / catch up tv. Thus I don't think you'd be able to download them pistolwhip (thanks for the kind offer though), as apart from anything else, i'd assume the files are large.
lhzr - tried that page but it doesn't download the right thing as it is a streaming video!

I think the only way to bypass geoblocking is by using a socks4 or socks5 proxy (with SSL support if needed). But the public ones are useless and most arent even socks.
So the best thing to do is to - or to get someone to - hack some computer in Australia, a fast one if you want to stream stuff (at least 10mbit, upload speed is important, adsl lines are useless), i.e. some university or webhoster.
Then set up a socks proxy like MPX on your desired port via shell commandline, this can be done on both linux and windows without the victim noticing.
Finally enter port and ip of your very own brand new proxy server somewhere in your local browser connection settings and your computer should be recognized as Australian.

I thought it might be that difficult (and illegal).
I don't condone hacking really (unless I can nievely ignore it) so pah.

bur.st has free shell accounts, put a proxy server on that, it has a very low data limit though, so try to set your mediaplayer to not use a proxy, just the browser, and see if that works.
