which is next to useless to me....

Games being presented in anamorphic (google it if you don't understand about widescreen aspect ratios), with the black bars on top and bottom, is actually great. It's nice, because it means that people with all different aspect ratio monitors (4:3, 5:4, 16:9, 8:5/16:10) see the same field of vision on their screens, whereas many games have different fields of view, on different aspect-ratio monitors. |
I have a widescreen monitor, and I´m aware of the different aspect ratios.
Just don´t like them very much...
You got a point talking about fov, but that only matters in the MP component of the game.
So that everyone uses the same fov!
They should have different fov for the different aspect ratios.
Another thing is that this only happens in games that are multiplatform.

Damn, I was very impressed with Butcher Bay when it originally came out... Especially how well it played on my old system back then. Looking forward to checking the revamped version, though I hear it's still dated and the sequel acts as a cheap imitation.

What did you expect?It is 'enhanced' not redone.It's like having an option of bloom or motion blur in your nvidia or ati control panel and force it..
