Haven't messed with my ps2 in a while, but it's a V7 with Magic 3, I'm guessing if I burn the game to DL media it won't work?
System : P4 3.0e (@3.5ghz), 1GB DDR400, OC'ed 6800 Ultra, 660GB storage, A08 DVDR, Creative s750 7.1, Audigy 2 ZS Platinum, etc...

use apache to rip both layers and rebuild with CD-DVD generator.
supposedly the word is that method worked with older dvd9 games but gt4 has some new protection to stop it.
going to have to wait and see on what to do next.
so you burned a DL and no luck? damn

it's not possible to rip it at the moment, to rip it to dvd5 would need an extractor writing that can open the .vol files and then rebuild it once you've removed/downsampled any movies or music
for using apache it depends on what version you have
v1.0 there's a button with a red and blue arrow, just click it to switch layers
v2.0 click TOOLS/EXTRACT LAYER 1 ISO, this'll make an iso of the 2nd layer which you can open with apache

t is not nuked it works. i put first layer on one DVD and it boots fine so that means that the game works. it stops when he tries to load something form second layer. game is fine we must find a way to break and rebuil vol files.

What are u saying? If u burn the game and can't play...it s a nuke!
What u re telling is exactly the problem nobody could solve.
If u were right then just burning it to a DL DVD would make it work. It s not the case.
