Where is your proof that DRM protection on Riddick is hurting sales? Do you have any statistics? Right now they get 100% sales for this game for PC and PS3 versions.

DRM will not be the undoing of Atari. Only a small percentage of their sales comes from PC anyways, so it won't be that that kills them (if they do die anytime soon).
The developers are now under EA's wing, to make both Jason Bourne games, and "Project Redlime," which is a resurrection of an old EA franchise (though which one is a secret for now; many suspect either Syndicate, or Wing Commander). So, with EA having so much interest invested in them, there is little chance that Starbreeze will close up anytime soon. |
If Atari won't get Bankrupt, why do they even "sell" devs to other distributors? There's no need to do so.
Every little bit counts, losing a little bit now, a lil bit later and so on, it will damage a lot. Take the example of Eidos. They only won't go Bankrupt if they fix their crap, but from what i have seen last years only a miracle will change that.

It's not "3 times and fuck off." It's three machines, infinite installs on each, and if you need to install on a fourth machine, then you call them.
Yeah, it's a drag, and I don't like it, but please, at least be accurate. I'm not saying that it's good, but again, it is not "3 times and fuck off." Exaggerating doesn't help your argument.

Hey, if you can't afford something, then you don't get to have it. This is called "capitalism," perhaps you've heard of it?

Hypocrisy- The Cedge thing in two posts
1"I really hate the way retards spam amazon customer review with 1 star, because of DRM. Really assholeish. They should take their software politics elsewhere.
The second straight afterwards
The way anti-DRM people overuse the word "Draconian" is so retarded.
"Draconian," as a legal term, refers to a system where even small crimes are given extreme, severe, or cruel punishments. The way the anti-DRM 'tards use the word really makes no sense at all.
I'm pretty sure that assface Richard Stallman was the one who popularized this misuse of the term. Ugh. So annoying.
So that second statement isn't software politics?
Oh but this isn't amazon, no it's a forum for gamers to discuss games. There is a protection bitching thread elsewhere.
The levels of ignorance and frustration on display in here, all arising from immature minds unable to accept that instant gratification has been thwarted is so sickening as to almost be entertaining.
Stallman is an asshat? maybe cedge lost some overpaid gig as a junior assistant code jockey and the boss's claimed it was because of unfair competition from open source, or maybe its just he finds Linux 'too hard'.
Whatever it is, gratuitous name calling against someone you don't know is childish at the best of times; using the net it is childish and gutless.
Taking cheap shots at others under the cover of the pretend anonymity of the internet, might seem easy, except when it it's done to you eh cedge?
Incidentally before you start I have no ax to grind for Stallman but I really dislike the way that idiots imagine that denigrating some slightly famous person must impart some sort of prestige upon themselves.
The irony is of course that the kudos taken from a real person only accrue to a virtual personality, a nym on an obscure board. How sad is that? Virtual ego-tripping.

Uh...okay? I was replying to something someone posted in this thread. What's your problem?

Uh, first off, I am not a coder, and I've been using Linux since the mid-90s. Those comments were really out of left field, dude.
My problem with Stallman are his insanely and nearly-transgressively left-wing politics, in regards to copyright and intellectual property. He's a nutjob radical.

He's right though
Offcorse when someone's right just ignore him or change the subject
I think you people need to put your priorities in order and think ten times harder before posting your oh-so-important opinions
I find it very hard not to be a "tard" these days

Is that your proof? Cause someone wrote something on the message board? Is there any proof they are not just 10 people, (half of them are probably just trolls who are pissed off cause they wanted to play early, but they cant, cause there is no crack).
You know, people who dont have problems with game/protection dont post on message boards. They just play. Those who have problems are always the most noisy, even if there is only 1 person
