.... urgh. Guess I won't be playing online again. It keeps saying "username or password is incorrect" I even went through Impulse and created a NEW account, returned to game and tried to login - but nope; "incorrect username or password"

I would be far more impressed with this game if I hadn't spent the past 3 hours trying to play it online.. and still finding it fail every time..

Bah we all knew it was coming and it is.
Flaming starting in official forums about the not working matchmaking and online in general.
Its really sad, being a Forged Alliance fan, to see this game have such an horrible launch (and its just the beginning.. give it a couple of day and forums will be filled with flames and complaints).
Whats really beyond me is how its possible since we in beta ALL KNEW it and stardock was aware of it since 3 month that such a basic aspect like being able to play online with other players was not worked on more.

General, aye.
I've got one account that I setup a while ago, but abandoned after a buying mistake (a friend of mine ordered a game for me, but had to install it into his own account .. gah) - the 2nd is the one my friend made for me, which has all my retail games on -- and the third is one I made today in order to play Demigod.

Seriously, this is the first time ever I've actually wanted to go onto the official forums and just be offensive.. There really is no excuse for the game not working, its P2P for fuck sake! Its not like they have massive server loads to contend with, they just need net code that isn't retarded (like not dropping people from game attempts who just cant connection..
I was intending on trying to change my side to see if that helped.. but I cant seem too.. Any reason why?
Guess it doesnt matter, the game doesnt fucking work anyway. Wish I'd stuck to my pirate version.

Been trumpeting this game for a long time. This will never be DoTA... not even close.
DoTA is perfect in its simplicity.

Servers are down. Genius Stardock/GPG devs made the game check with central server every time you do something, including start the game. Even more genius devs put the network code in the same thread as the one that renders the GUI on screen, so the game freezes if the server is down. JOY O JOY MY CHILDREN!!
I'm so fucking depressed that I'm sitting here reading Twilight on my Kindle.
PS you can't start the game anymore since after the intro movie it checks for update. Because server is down, it will never be done checking for update and will just sit there frozen in an infinite loop. So don't bother trying people, until its back up or you are a good cracker who can NOP the server checks.

so the game come with the original installer without protection you can create an impulse account and it work online (AVENGED version)?

The update changes nothings regarding the game. It only download 2 impulse dll files and the game manual in pdf.

So if there's no DRM, how does the new patch redirect legit users onto different multiplayer servers? I've just had a game and the level took ages to load first time round, at least a few minutes (the animation was going and paused for fairly long periods too) is that something to do with the master server being reset?

this game needs a major UI overhaul ... controls are a bitch (no attack move, wtf ?). I don't know how this game passed Beta without everyone bitching about it...

It tells you during the loading screens, mate; Hold ALT while clicking to perform an "aggressive move" -- basically Attack<>Move.

Give it time ppl, dota was released 5 years ago. This game came out a couple days ago and you want it to be the perfect dota clone, and it´s not. They will add more content in the future, hopefully more heroes.
