learn japanese for xmas 2009(ps3 release will be as usual reg free)
jesus, thats nuts, im actually really thinking about it, to import this thing comlete in japanese and
,,domo arigato,, are the only words so far for me, i get
i'm gonna do it...wanted to learn japanese anyway for a while now, FF13 and yakuza 3 should be enough to give me a kick in the ass to finally get on with it
lol this game is hyped... might be for a reason tho. Never actually tried any of the FF games. No ide.. but can the games be compared to any other Japanese turn based game ? Liked Eternal Sonata and Enchanted Arms
Possible fan boy alert!
You never played any Final Fantasy game?
Damn boy, where have you been the last... twenty years?^^
Go play Final Fantasy VI if you can stomach the SNES graphics or VII if you can stand blocky PSX gfx.
I played alot of JRPGs in my life but none of them ever could draw me in like a FF game could.
Yes it's hyped, as was FF XII as was FF X-2 (which was pretty shite imo), as was FF X.
Final Fantasy = hype just like Death = Adder (damn, I play way too many old school games atm. Cookies for the person who knows that reference )
Eternal Sonata, I liked it, although the whole Chopin thingie was strange O.o
Didn't play Enchanted Arms but I played Blue Dragon but still FF is, at least for me, still the best JRPG series that's out there.
But well, grab any FF and play it, if you like one you'll most likely like 'em all (but try to stay away from FF I-III - the japanese 3 that is, because they are, well, pretty buggy in parts and imo not that good but still playable)
btw. watching the trailer, I see we're going back to sci-fi themed FF - not quite sure what to think about that, but I'll probably buy it. Bought every FF since VII ^^
and another btw. I'm pretty sure japanese ain't that hard of a language, to listen to, reading all those kanjis whole different story.
I know Final Fantasy is mainstream in that genre and all, but iv just never found singleplayer games that takes lots of your time that interesting... mostly tho, there are of course Oblivion and Fallout 3, but they are FP. Gonna leech it anyway tho.

I guess it makes sense, we've had every period from fantasy, medieval, modern and steam-punk. I guess we needed a PROPER sci-fi FF title. I'm not sure how I feel about it either, not really sure if it has the FF *feel* -- but that's just from watching trailers, which don't give a clear enough indication. Personally, I'm hyped about the game - and double happy that I don't have to fork out for a P$3 just to play it.
.... though we all know the best FF has already been made, and that's FFVIII (followed nice and close by the godlike FFX)

Well, thankfully opinions are like ass holes, right? ^^
FFVI pwns them all, followed by a tie between VII and V, for me VIII was acutally one of the not so great ones, didn't really like the setting and stuff.
FFX was great, as was FFXII, imo, although people seem to disagree on that.
Don't get me wrong, apart from the first 3 I love them all, but some little more, some a liitle less
btw. am I the only one who kinda misses the job system from older games?^^ Was kinda fun but I am aware that it ain't apropriate anymore for modern times but whatever.
Nostalgia ain't a bad thing

They can't be compared. FF games are in a different league of quality. You should play FFX and FF12 right now (and older FF games if you aren't a gfx ho).

Even the FF Tactics games are fun (mostly because they still have the job classes ^_^)
Unfortunately I never played any of the Crystal Chronicles titles, but I heard they were pretty fun to play
Try with that:
www.rosettastone.com
their software is supposedly really good and makes it rahter easy to learn another language.
I might try it with japanese, if I find the time
I reached a point at which I'm thinking about getting a Wii - PS3 has - till now - nothing to offer that I'd desperately wanna play (except Heavy Rain and MGS4)
but a Wii? the possibility of playing all those Gamecube games again? Plus no DL DVDs required for the Wii? Once I have enough money together I'm gonna get myself one!
Btw. what I think is sweet, we finally get another female main protagonist - if I read that right. That didn't happen since FFVI
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
