One game that you don't like in a series, and suddenly it's "fallen."
Quit being such a drama queen.

They are out of ideeas man , EA is too fucking retarded , they made over 9K expansions for the crappy sims 2 and now they are starting with battlefield after they saw that the trick is working .

I know everything there is to know about the new ones. I'll play BC2 on PC, am dying for a Heroes account, and will buy 1943 Pacific the day it comes out (assuming it's on Steam, that is, otherwise, I'll wait till it is). Only think I'm unsure about is that weird Korean "Battlefield Online" thing.
And yes, I've been playing the series since BF1942, and have played every game in the series (except for BC1, and the console version of BF2). I love BF2 and all, but I'm also interested in seeing the series go in new directions, as well as continuing the "core" of the series (which they will of course do, with BF3 eventually. Don't act like they've "forgotten" the old players, because they've done plenty of hinting about BF3).
Stop assuming that everyone that likes Battlefield has the same rigid expectations as you. I, personally, have no problem with franchises branching out far from their roots. Staleness is one of the worst things in gaming.

So you prefer dumbing down to sticking to a true proven formula ???
BF1942 was one of the biggest selling PC games ever... 1943 wont get ANYTHING like the sales 1942 on PC ... im sure as hell it will be a big hit on Console...

I said that I like for a franchise to diversify and branch out, not that I prefer one kind of game over another (I like games of all sorts of complexity levels). You're being childish by putting words into my mouth that are from your point of view.
If I want to experience the "proven formula" of the older games, then I can play 1942, Vietnam, BF2, or 2142 (and the future BF3, no doubt). There is no shortage of Battlefield games that stick to the "proven formula."

You have a crystal ball, eh?
Regardless, 1943 doesn't need to sell anywhere near as much as 1942, nor is EA expecting it to. This is a low-priced (and lower-budget), downloadable side-game, a mini-remake of '42 . It's not the next core entry in the series.

Oh I still play it, I just don't like the way it feels .. and I most certainly don't like the micro-transaction part that means you have to pay for everything.

There are a few items that can be paid for using in-game currency (though they are far, far outnumbered by the items you have to pay for) but they, like EVERY OTHER item in the game, has a time limit on it. 7days or 30days. Once the time is up, you lose it - even if you paid real money for it.
A large number of beta testers got pissed about that, especially having to pay real money for "clothing" - so they all formed a movement (lol..) and went naked instead, refusing to wear clothing. EA then changed it so you have to PAY to go naked too.

Reading your beta test comments, doesn't make me wonder anymore why the game isn't out already. Seems they made a "free" game that makes more money than a retail one. Not a bad business plan, but I was actually waiting for this 6months ago, now I'm in no hurry.

This model is very popular in Asia, especially in Korea. But on their games, you are always treated with respect, and can have great gaming experience without paying at all, or just to get a good start. Otherwise, paying is to enhance the experience. But EA couldn't help themselves and all their greed. :\

Oh my comments about the beta are referring JUST to the monetary system .. I've not even begun to describe what a clusterfuck the supposed "match-making" system is, nor the ridiculous lag that destroys every game, nor the hackers since PB is disabled for the beta - and last, but not least, despite claims to the contrary - being higher level DOES give a gameplay advantage. More damage and more resistant TO damage (not to mention the skill system, with higher-level skills bestowing distinctly UNFAIR advantages against new players)
Fuck this fucking mess.

It's atricious if you think of any prior BF game.
Even BF2142 is a joy in comparison.
