What´s wrong with impulse? you dont even have to open the app to launch the game.

It's worth a try at least, SpykeZ. It's beautifull to look at too.
@Banelord: What's wrong with Impulse? You need it for nothing except updates and MP. You can even archive your updated game and play it on anotehr PC without internet. Far and far less intrusive then Steam.

"2009 graphics" do NOT matter when it comes to rating a game. Maybe in your (shallow?) world, but not in the one of anyone seriously trying to rate a game.
Compared to Dota (and the other dota-like, A(eon)O(f)S(trife), L(and)O(f)L(egends) etc etc, Demigod is shallow and very limited.
A good example of "copying" a warcraft/starcraft "mod" was that Tower Defense game a couple months ago ... and they sell it for 20 bucks ... not 40-50 ... |

Of course you can post your opinion, but have u tried a 5vs5 match? ´cause giving one´s opinoin based on a skirmish game vs IA is not completely valid about a game designed for mp only, that´s why I´m saying. Peace

It's not sad(maybe just a tad though)...media just over exaggerated and misread again.
Read the dev blog:
"Now, I do want to address something about the update that I’ve seen users talk about. We aren’t blaming piracy for the fact that the day 0 multiplayer experience absolutely sucked. The issue boiled down to us having put together a multiplayer infrastructure that was designed to handle around 50,000 or so connected users. If the game took off, we would simply add more servers as the load increased.
But what happened was that we ended up with 140,000 connected users, of which about 12% were actually legitimate customers. Now, the roughly 120,000 users that weren’t running legitimate copies of the game weren’t online playing multiplayer or anything. The issue with those users was as benign as a handful of HTTP calls that did things like check for updates and general server keep alive. Pretty trivial on its own until you have 120,000 of them. Then you have what amounts to a DDOS attack on yourself.
So the day 2 update we released basically made sure legitimate customers were no longer being affected by those users. As a side note, no we can’t just eliminate the infrastructure being used up by warez users because they’re running the unprotected retail version and we can’t make a distinction between retail and pirated since there’s no copy protection. It’s not a huge deal in the long run (except to our metacritic score), it was just an unexpected challenge that made day 1 a very bad multiplayer experience."
140 000 simultanious connections of which 12% were legitimate.
on to a brighter news, NPD US retail sales chart from march shows empire total war being #1(beating wow)...that's gotta be something. maybe.

It's worth the $40,- if only because Stardock is adamant against any form of intrusive copy protections. Just check their published "Gamers bill of rights" which they wrote and uphold: http://www.edge-online.com/blogs/the-gamers-bill-rights

Sure. I also have the liberty to say what I want about your opinion. I want you to be a happy sparky not a sad sparky so i was just suggesting you stick to WC3. I didn't see any need for such hostile language...?
Besides, I don't have to go fuck myself. i have a girl in my house called a wife. . . unlike yourself there sparky.

I must say with the latest update online multiplayer (legit) is now playable.
Game is real fun to play and will appeal to the mass because is real easy to pick it up
I personally prefer a real strategy game (Forged Alliance) but Demigod is definetly worth a try

Hi Guys
A little stuck here -
I have two mates coming over with their machines tonight and am wondering if there is any way of updating the Avenged version without having to d/l the RAdiance/DeVised versions so we can play LAN?
The game isn't available in my country yet and i only have 600 meg left of my monthly download limit so i can;t buy on Steam or d/l the other versions.
Someone mentioned copying over the dgdata.zip file, but i'm not sure what that means exactly.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Speed

Thanks for the reply Mussolinka, but i have the iso so i can install the game to their machines, but you can't play LAN with the Avenged version - Lan is not available. Apparently you can play LAN with Radiance etc - i was wondering if there was a patch that could be used.
Cheers
Ross
