Yup, this is probably the most underrated game in recent years. |
didn't know it was under-rated lol, scores were awesome, peoples responses were all positive. The only negative I hear people whine about is the combat system. |
I mean underrated as in not many people know about this gem game. Maybe I should have used another word.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOoo ya, it's strange too considering Atari produced it here in the states which is a big name due to them owning the D&D rights and been making games on them for years (neverwinter nights for example)
The Witcher was gogamers.com top seller for months. I guess it depends on where/who the devs are resulting in the game being known or not. UBI and EA are so old and well known everyone and their unborn children know them.
I'm sure after making this huge of a success and gaining quite the reputation they got any newer game will get a lot more attention, especially since they plan on porting the game to consoles, though I can't see how the combat system would work unless they do the traditional click a button to highlight nearest enemy and cycle through them to get what you want.

if they do a console port correctly it could give them the recognition they need and finances as well to make the 2nd witcher even better, assuming they'd stick to their roots which the devs said they would if it would ever happen.

argh how the fucking hell do you get that saint litany scroll bullshit. The order to cast the fucking spells is aard aard ingi but the moment I cast ard he whines about it not being a right combo and I don't have enough stamina to cast all 3 in a split second.
argh finally got it, I swear some of the shit in this game can turn anyone off from wanting to play it anymore. First the fucking lady of the lake quest running around for 40 mins just to fucking please her, old vizima spening 10 minutes fighting a huge mob just to get into one door only to find out another enemy locked onto you and can't get inside now till you defeat that one guy, then more start running over to ruin your fucking day.

ok so my memory apparently failed me I think, who was the assassin in the end that caught a surprised look on geralt?
epic fucking ending btw, the moment with the wraith was.....amazing.
The jaques however you said his name was Alvin wasn't it
My only complaint of the story is you didn't get to see the other witchers again as well as triss :\
and now I sit here, nothing to play cause everything will just be.....mediocre in comparison

of course there is. This game sold 600,000 copies within 3 months, and it being their first game, not to mention the extra sales just with the EE re-release (I bought it again too just cause)
Their currently working on the console version but it's obvious their going to do another one. Especially the way it ended.

I think Geralt was surprised because of the assassin's eyes, as he was another witcher (or possibly a salamandra mutant created with the stolen secrets). So I don't think we should know him from the game.

EE comes with 2 bonus adventures (if you didn't know already).

Hehe, yeah I finished those 2 bonus adventures. Very small, but I liked them.
It was nice as a final goodbye to this epic game (after the second time I finished it and choosing the opposite decisions)

My inventory was full and so I couldn't receive an item from the npc and that item dropped on the ground. I went to an inn to offload shit from inventory, but when I got back to the place where the item was dropped that item was no more. Am I fucked and should load a previous save? NPC doesn't give me another one.

Depends on the item. Quest items usually go directly in the Quest Item slots. So what you dropped was probably some ingredient or something.
Most ingredients can be bought off merchants, so just find out what you need and visit your friendly neighborhood herbalist/witch.

too bad i was looking forward to the console version with the improved fighting.. didn't like the original that much tbh, far too linear and the fighting was crap. i liked the setting, story and characters though.

Cool, that means I can finally play the PC version without missing anything. I never liked the idea of an improved console version based on the same game.

Exactly. I saw comments on GameTrailers under witcher console version trailer and you are absolutely correct, console fanboys don't care about witcher.

It hasn't been confirmed until the developers say that it has been cancelled.
| Quote: | Following rumors that the console port of CD Projekt's 2007 cult hit RPG The Witcher has been cancelled, a company representative told Shacknews that an official statement on the matter will be released "soon."
The rumors began with a report from Polish site PolyGamia, which heard from multiple sources that The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf had been cancelled.
When contacted yesterday by Shacknews, a CD Projekt representative issued an uncharacteristic "no comment" on the matter.
The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf was announced late last year, as sales of the PC title passed the one million unit mark. The port is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall. |
