What would you prefer, that you have to go find health each time you get shot?

In games where your character can only take minimal damage, regenerating health is the only way to preserve the flow of game play.

First Mafia didn't have such regen system, and I remember the game was fantastic. Shooting was meaningful, you shot and had some serious reprecautions if you were not careful.

Or do you, by "the only way to preserve the flow of game play," mean for current generation console "gamers" with 10min attention span? Smile

Serious repercussions? You mean you had to restart that part of the mission. Laughing

Yeah and I suppose quick save/quick load is for PC tards? Rolling Eyes

Just because someone does not want to repeat game play or get frustrated by a game it doesn't make them a 'tard'. Remember gaming is a casual pastime, something people do for fun.

Those that abuse it, yes, but you don't see any difference between this and health regeneration? One being completely optional, while the other being forced upon all, yes same thing indeed. Rolling Eyes

They are more than welcome to play XboxLive games or get a Wii. Also you are right, the word "tard" was too harsh, I have removed it. Smile Also, define "fun". Some people find playing games with trainers or god mode and infinite ammo fun, so why not just do that with games, and be done with it? Rolling Eyes

That's what difficultly levels are for. Developers have to cater to the majority of their targeted demographic if they want a successful game, and most people enjoy at least some challenge.

like Bioshock, the fun was gone when you found out your immortal

i blame Halo for this "regenerating god mode", it was the game that made it popular amongst developers and gamers... but the first game that used it was a snes game Wolverine Adamantium Rage

the same with cover system Gears if War made it popular but the first game that used it was Winback for N64 then Kill.Switch then part 2 called Special Forces: Nemesis Strike

I agree on that, the Vita Chambers were such a shit way of making the game more casual. I just turned them off after the patch came out. But I would prefer it if they were only active on the easy difficulty level.

You could just reload when you spawned in a Vita chamber. Quite an easy 'fix'. Just like FT in Oblivion, I never understood why people bitched. Don't use it if you don't like it.

I am pretty disappointed.... for Driving, shooting, health regen and Car chases + shooting. Those looks sooo arcade.... They definitely needed to improve before final version. Or this game will be like another Gta and godfather sadly... Sad

SR meant to be FUN FUN FUN. But Mafia1 was kind a realistic game. Looks like they wanna move Mafia2 to more like arcade and FUN direction than realism like in Mafia1. While GTA4 is meant to be more realistic than just FUN game. Like there was no kill frenzy and stuffs like previous GTAs.

Sims is kiddie game not simulator...

Only thing that bothered me in this trailer is that he drove through red light and police wasn't after him. IMO obeying traffic rules was one of the best atmosphere generator in the first part.

Mafia was and stays my favorite storyline wise sandbox game, playing it like watching some great mafioso flick, which they do not make these days.

hey guys! we have a lot of threads about driving right now -- in particular, about the handling. please only have one of these threads -- otherwise, it gets spammish.

and for those who are wondering, yes, the devs are listening to your feedback, read the forums, value your opinions, and yes they are working hard to make this game awesome.

So.. Lets hope and wait.. Wink

the view distance is very ridiculous imo, better not be the case on PC and same with low textures

Anyone notice the mouse cursor at the end of the third vid. I suppose that's how the PC version will look like, with some improvements for pop-ins hopefully.
