it's pretty cliché and takes some elements off "Blade", would've worked out better as an anime or manga I guess but we'll see

let's just wait and see about that when it's out.
i really don't want to badmouth it and hope it turns out good, but seeing how movie makers managed to fuck up the adaptions of excellent animes in the past, my expectations are quite low.

usually bad adaptions are made by holywood, the producer of this movie also produced Hero and Crouching Tiger, both were masterpieces imo, so, this one has a chance!

Hero sucked?
It was among the most beautiful and artistic movies ever, and you say it sucked?
A opinion is a opinion but still, you might disliked it personally, but you can't say the movie sucks because it is a great great movie!!

it's a copy of a good good movie. yeah it looked pretty. but that was it. it just looked pretty. it was poorly executed. with its story and the actors it could've been a lot better.
all that's really memorable from hero and cthd and fearless and other wirefu movies with a 'story' is the cinematography the choreography and a possibly 'brilliant' twist. but everything else is low quality.

Hmm...A movie adaptation of one of my favorite animes....I wonder if it would follow the story of the original Last Vampire, or the one of Blood + .
Both were good but somehow Last Vampire lacked an overall story(there was just a random investigation, followed by a showdown on an airforce base) - still it had an amazing atmosphere and graphic style.
Blood + was the exact opposite - good story, but becouse of the somehow poor character drawing and the lack of detail it didn't have a thick enough atmosphere - to top that it had 52 episodes and the first 12 were not that easy to bare with, unless the viewer was into cliché drama - after that how ever it got preaty good.One of the best vampire animes along with Trinity Blood, Vampire Hunter D and Hellsing.
What was good about Blood + was it somehow managed to integrate a realy inovative take on the vampire theme(origins,nature, motives) and still maintain a realy strong classical feeling and image of them(espetualy the antagonists).Also in the end of the series the idea and plot shifted back into the "heavy drama" line , but this time it fit realy well and was blended with some great psyhological and existential issues...
As for the movie - I somehow feel optimistic -not becouse the director is that good- but simply becouse it is not a european director - ergo - he might actualy create something decent.

Just saw the trailer - Yeap...Those above were right - He messed it up....Too asian- way to asian.
Wish he would have stuck with the original way Diva and Saya were thought of.Not the japanese "I have a duty - the duty is my goal" idea. Still - will watch it - might turn out to be a decent action movie...But the very mantioning of the words "light and dark" in the trailer makes me pessimistic - there was nothing of that "pure white and darkest black" classical christian moral fiber in the anime series or the manga....
