Thats actually a precaution messaure for when there is a fire in the building. The four panels of the rotating door collapse together from "l+l" to "l i l" (viewed from above) to allow a quick exit through the doorway.

I don't know if it automatically shatters the glass while doing it or that the guy filled up the space between the two door panels.
