Burn on Verbatim, if possible, and burn SLOW. 4x tops is what I use - even on Verbs, let alone cheap media. Also don't forget to burn with the .DVD file and NOT the .ISO (use Xbox Backup Creator 2.8 alongside IMGBurn for the sweetest combo)

That's usually a sign of a mixed disc. Your Xbox doesn't recognise the disc as a game disc, the FW won't boot it. Are you sure you have Ixtreme 1.51?

I don't know the firmware. I do know it's about 5 months old and is has the new security according to the modder. It also had the extra heat sync inside so I presumed it would be the new firmware?

Five months? Sorry mate, you won't have 1.5.1 then - more likely 1.4.1, which isn't enough to run new 3rd-wave games (like this one) - and if you patch the game to work on Wave2, you run the risk of detection and ban from XBL.

No, 1.5.1 is the newest/only (at the moment) firmware to read Wave3 -- and it only came out about 3 months ago, at the most.

patching games like that = probable banhammer ... doesn't matter though if you don't plan on using Live.

As I said, if you patch the game to Wave2 ... you GREATLY increase the probability of detection and ban. If, like Nouse says, you don't care about live; then go right ahead!

Well I don't. This is the second XBOX now and the whole thing has cost me a small fortune. I've told my son he can use his own money if he wants it doing because I'm not spending anymore. The 3 red lights on the last one was when I had enough of Microsoft

Well... if you're absolutely sure... then there are patches and ways of making Wave3 games become Wave2. Look on the bright side; at least you won't get banned until November - if at all. The "funny" thing about bans and MS is;
A. They happen in waves. Every November, usually between 15th and the 25th.
B. They don't ALWAYS happen. My machine has survived two ban waves now, despite repeatedly playing pre-release, unstealthed/broken SS AND review copies of games.

All you need is an nForce chipset, or an Intel ICH9 one, or failing that; a VIA SATA card. As long as you're not running a 64bit OS then it's as easy as hooking the drive to the PC and flashing it with JungleFlasher. If you ARE running x64, then there's a few more steps to do as you can't flash in Windows. |
lol you don't realise that some people don't have a clue about computers, me included, I mean you totally lost me in your first sentence, what is a chipset ?!?! Sorry but that's how dumb some of us are.
I pay for my games here in Thailand, about $2, and I'm guessing they are all patched cos I've got the 3rd wave games but my 360 hasn't been flashed for over a year, it's good to live somewhere it so cheap for everything.

Spot on, people who say that console gaming is cheap as an argument on console vs PC wars couldn't be more wrong. Luckily this is my first xbox and it's working great, but I already feel like I spent a small fortune on it too. Official VGA cable is damn expensive, then some rechargeable batteries and a charger, also online play isn't free. I spent about 440 euros so far on all of my xbox 360 related stuff.

Flashing a box and not getting warrenty (i presume that was the case) while having 3 red lights isnt something people should whine about .
Dont flash buy original and it would have been fixed.

lol typical console fanboy comeback. When a console can do what PC can we'll compare the prices directly, but right comparing it like that is madness. I spent 440 euros total on a device that is useless without a HDTV/monitor/sound setup and can only play games at mediocre graphics, low resolution and framerate.

I really wish Glottis didn't buy an x360 so we didn't have to listen to his shit in this forum as well as PC games.

Sabin did you flash your drive before signing up for live? As far as I have gathered it seems those who flashed their drives before they even put in an ethernet cable into their box havent been banned yet.
