Hype and anticipation?
I doubt anyone's been hyped or has been anticipating the game since 2000.

Well as much as I like 3DRealms I feel this might finally be the opportunity DNF has been waiting for. Hopefully it will be taking over by another dev or just be cancelled either way we are going to get some closure.

From what I read, Take2 only has publishing rights, the game is financed by 3drealms itself, so I don't think Take2 has the rights to give the game to another team...

Actually it is far better than committing to a specific date, and either releasing an unfinished product because of that date, or keep postponing the date every time. It gives devs some time to breathe and operate without too much pressure.

They will probably sell it, they'll be happy for every last penny they can earn. Going out of business can be pretty costly.

Wow what a frick'n carrot-and-stick ride with those a*seholes. Bloody biggest joke in the PC gaming industry and now they finally failed. GOOD F**N RIDDANCE! Such an on-going farce with those fat puss dweeb game devs @ 3d-FAILems.
Now HOPEFULLY some other publishing house will pick up the existing DNF assets/project and run with it.

Thats ridiculous.
I was laughing at the end, though when you look at the psychopaths in the industry, it doesn't even seem that far fetched.
