Just did some more testing and the gamedata is definitely okay i would say... copying back the original .exe, patch.pack and patch_en.pack turns the game's movies back to English. Something wrong in the actual patch, perhaps... since no others files were replaced.

turns out my problem is in the way the game handles the .bik video files... the files have multiple audio tracks and for some reason, after patching, the game is playing the WRONG one. ugh... probably no easy way to fix it either, since localization settings are all fine (the game's text and speech are all in English)

my workaround, if anyone else is experiences videos in an incorrect language, is to unpack the movies-pack file and play the bik files manually from windows.... lame, but it will have to do until a new exe/patch is released.

looks like I am gonna delete this game. Only time I play th egame is to test one of JB or damodar's patch releases or the razor's official patches. Once I confirm i can play. I dont bother till this thread goes up on the front page and I know another patch is out. Its just hogging too much disk space. Too bad I cant get the same experience I had with Shogun Total War in any of the subsequent total war games. Maybe it was the theme that drew me in.

Usenet, torrentz, rapidshareshit etc., all the same. Once it gets leaked from the scene to one of them it spreads like a virus. In this case it didn't get leaked and everyone who's using these methods to get warez can't find it.
