when u talk to weston he does nothing no, what u goto do is go by the stairs there is a chest there, and wait till he walks upstairs then loot the chest and ull get 6000 gold (pays off debt) and u get some other stuff as well...
They could improve on the quest updating, its hard sometimes to tell whats what, but when it sinks in a bit its all fine..
Its difficult to get the quests done it seems, i restarted again as adventurer captain blood this time and i managed to get the weapons needed which i think the barman asked for, but heck you cant carry them around all day u get caught. So makes me wonder if there is a certain logical order to complete things in and not just follow it as linear as it hands it to u, yeah take the missions etc but wether you do them there and then is anybodys guess.

Just a quick question: how is the stability? The previous game was incedibly CTD-happy even with patches, so I really want to know if they managed to improve the engine.

the game locked up for me three times when first playing but that was due to sound. if you go into the engine.ini and change the settings for sound MM to 0 than 1 like a poster in last page said then its fine.. Since then ive had no problems and it runs silky smooth in 16:10 widescreen altered in engine.ini as well.
Only trouble I have its working out what to fucking do lol
The game seems to in outside areas run in declocked standard 600mhz on my ati card here but soon as you go in a house it jumps to 750mhz ... now i remember older ati drivers with problems like that, but this is the only game its doing it on the 9.4 cats.. im not sure if its drivers or a game problem, im betting on game everything else it dont do it with latest drivers..

Someone email the developers and tell them they forgot to label their fucking NPC's.
I'm all for realism but this just smacks of laziness - once I've talked to a person their name should appear above their head - how do they expect me to distinguish 15 generic slave faces with textures out of 2000?
Some sort of map would be helpful on land as well - at least fill it in as I visit places.
So far my first impressions are rather meh - cool ideas (stats, inventory etc) but overall implementation is fairly poor.

Press F12 when in front of a npc,it shows their name...odd i know,but at least it's there.
And I'm all for a map even though the islands are not very hard to navigate through since they are not so big.

I have to press F12 each time I stand in front of an NPC. That's kind of pointless - it should toggle all on/off with a keystroke like normal games do. Will check it out in a bit, thanks.
Edit: Yea, F12 is unfortunately useless.
Ah well, typical clunky Russian game - uninstalled. On the plus side, a real game has taken its place - Sid Mier's Pirates!

Without doubt, this game has the most f*cked up epilogue ever. It wouldn't be too bad if it wasn't for the complete lack of feedback on what you're supposed to do.
I managed to get a dagger, but it's so patheticly weak that I might as well throw insults at the enemy, it would hurt them more. I spoke with the gunsmith to get weapons (blind luck that I found him), he wouldn't, I left, some spainard went in, they locked the door. A guard stoped me and the only dialogue option was to send him into the house. A few seconds later I get the message that I should go in...why not. Then the spainard inside attacks me and my dagger is as much use as a plastic butter knife. I run out of stamina way before I could hurt him enough, there's no room to run around in order to replenish my stamina, and if I happen to hurt him enough, he just sips a healing potion and I can start over, already weakened from the previous fights with that bastardo.
Then there's the other guy who'll be sold to a merchant. I find the guy in question, and he keeps telling me to f*ck off, but the journal only tells me to find his house...hellooo! I'm in there right now and talking to the man!
It's kinda messed up when the player can't get to the sailing part of a game about sailing. Been a while since the last time I really needed a walkthrough.

I wouldn't say no to a walkthrough either
As to your problems: When you enter the house of the gunsmith and go upstairs, the corpse of the guard is lying in front of the small room where the spaniard and the gunsmith is in. Press "1" to loot the guard and take his sabre/cutlass. Should give you the upper edge against the spaniard.
As for your second problem, you could read what Moosenoodles wrote in response to me. Thanks for that by the way
You have to wait inside Westons house until the guy walks upstairs and then get the money and the other stuff from the large chest.
I am currently stuck right after I enter the city when the spaniards took over. I enter, rescue a woman from some spaniard and learn that the city has been taken over, but I got no idea what to do next. Even when I kill every spaniard in the city nothing happens. There is noone in any house and I can't leave for the ship. The fort is empty. Some skeletons in the cave and my half-dead buddy at the plantation only sends me to the city.
But what should I do there?

what ive noticed is it changes it seems slightly depending on say if u chose captain blood corsiar and then chose adventurer if u restart.
As adventurer the weapons part with griffin whatever his name is was totaly put out differently infront of my character lol,, as corsair I never had the dead guard upstairs but did as adventurer.
I thought about this a bit and decided that its more probable that the game should run with the dead guard upstairs but due to so many "issues with some quests" ive read through on aop2 forums (not that there is much there) it seems it could be just that, "bugs".

^ Pirates Ahoy! is probably better for discussion about the game - not much yet since it isn't officially released, but that should change soon enough.

Best place to get news of the new mods as well.

I started the game as the dutch character but I did not get any particular main quest?..I had a small tutorial on the ship and got dropped off at Saint Martin..log book empty and no directions on what to do..
did I miss the main quest line?
game is pretty fun though..but I wonder is there a better speed up button then *R*(2x)?

Meh, I give up on Peter. The whole quest as a slave is a big pile of mess with a side order of bad design decisions. Maybe it's my fault for starting the game on Captain (the supposed "medium" difficulty), but after I free the kid from the camp, the first spanish guard in the city eats me for breakfast (his stamina seems infinite, while I tire after about a dozen swings that hardly depletes half his HP (not to menion his ready supply of potions), kills me with one heavy swing or with one bullet plus a fast swing, not even potionscan keep up with that). Plus I read on the official forum that even after all the guards are dead, some pople still can't find the crewmates you're supposed to talk to and even if they show up, they don't talk or something as some people commented "trying to figure out waht to do".
Too bad the other two playable characters are hardly sympathetic.

free what kid from what camp? not seen that, maybe ur now further than me, not played it yet today... Im still carrying around weapons that i got off griffin after killing the spaniard thief.. no idea yet what im meant to be doing.. Either way all i want is to get off this fracking place and start the game properly.. Its like its hindering me to even get to that stage.

to all those having problems with the spaniards in the peter blood campaign(unless you are experiencing a bug):
Spoiler: |
Your crewmates are inside the shipyard. You got to swim there and have them follow you to the spanish ship(swimming again).
|
So far i haven't encountered any serious bugs or gotten stuck. Only annoying thing is that almost all enemis are quite tough to beat in the beginning and also everyone is so bloody greedy.

Does anyone know why your player stats/skills go negative? I know certain items effect your stats but I seem to have a permanent -4 to all my stats and it won't tell me why.
