It's painful to have to go through every tiny step with you. Did you even read the config guide?

Which CDVD plugin are you using? Everyone else can manage to play from a DVD. If you can figure out how to make an .iso from your DVD then that's a smooth way to play your game.

Oh yeah, check the compatibility list on the PCSX2 site to make sure any game you want to play is actually supported by the emulator.

Good luck, because I'm putting you on /ignore

it works for some games, but might not work for others. search the ngemu threads for the game that you're trying to run and see what other configurations people are using.

I mange to load from the Drive,
NTSC games working for about 57-60 FPS
and PAL games for about 47-50 FPS

so far that I tested.

Star Wars:FU
is unplayble due bugs and it's confirmed it still not fully compatible with the emulator.

If you want smooth (I don't mean frame-rate, I mean gameplay) playing, ISO your disks and run from that instead. Playing from the DVD itself often causes hiccups and stuttering as PC drives don't run at a constant speed like console ones, often spinning down to idle when not streaming data - which causes pausing and stuttering when the drive has to spin-up again.

well,something similar happening with MvC2
I mounted with digital Drive ,and run it like from the Drive{no real disc}
in the start everything working fine,
but after some minuets of playing it's get stuck and I can't close the emulator, but
only with restart,and it's annoying.

the problem is,When I try to load it normali{with no need for digital drive}
it's not loading.
but other games{like Persona 4} are working.

As Glottis has, repeatedly, said; the emulator is not perfect. It's playable, for the most part, but it's not perfect. We cannot help you if you don't give us info; what emulator version are you using? what region game? what plugins? what settings? Just saying "it's not loading" or "it freezes" doesn't help.

Yuck PAL PS2 games, always get NTSC (or worst case scenario PAL that has 60Hz mode). Playing at 50Hz is playing a butchered game.

Emulator Version:PCSX2 0.9.6

Region Game :
NTSC

Plugins
: http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/5987/j32f.jpg

it's on hardware Mod
with noSpeed hackes

it's loading only after I mount the game with Virtual Drive
and "laoding" it with the emulator like from the DVD drive,
after some minuets it's freezes and then the emulator get stuck.

if you need more info,I will post.

I prefer PAL titles on the emulator as they generally run a tad better, not being as fast the NTSC counterparts. From my own experiences in the past, games that struggled to get to the NTSC default of 60 - quite easily managed the PAL default of 50. I honestly don't know how or why, but it does/did happen.

PAL games also have higher resolutions, though suffer the "black border" syndrome - and, as you said, most are 50hz/50fps which is horrific.

QFMFT.

Dude, get the latest plugins and SVN emulator release. Also, no speed hacks?? I wouldn't recommend playing most games without them, not yet, the emulator just isn't far enough along to be like that. The hacks are "bad" - but they're used for a reason; namely smooth and fast gameplay, along with graphical fixes.

Good example to see why PAL 50Hz/50fps PS2 games are crap is 2d side scroller games like metal slug. 50fps game feels laggy and stuttery, 60fps = silky smooth. That's the case with every PAL game, but less noticible with 3d games, still if you play NTSC game and then try PAL you'll instantly see the difference.

Agreed. Aside from the slightly higher resolution, I've NEVER liked the PAL standard. As you said; it feels noticeably slower and nowhere near as smooth. Wherever possible, especially on the proper hardware, I prefer NTSC.

Anyone remember the "olden days" where PAL was not only slower, but also visibly butchered as well? The SNES was fucking notorious for it, with unsightly black borders taking up half the screen >_<

Clcancellation, I'm going to give you two of the best pieces of advice possible with PCSX2;

1. Bookmark these two sites. Do it NAO.

http://www.4shared.com/dir/7426412/ed9ca216/re4rainbow4sharedcom.html
http://forums.pcsx2.net/thread-2298.html

They'll save you time, and save us headaches Razz

2. Run from ISO and not optical media. Run in DX10 hardware mode wherever possible. USE SPEEDHACKS!

That "Mediafire" link from Pey (Page 10 or so I believe) seems a bit more up to date compared to the above 4shared one though I guess the additional plugins might make both very useful.

The link was http://www.mediafire.com/orleans by the way. Smile
(Haven't done much with it myself aside from tinkering with various options but it seems quite improved over the official release I previously used to test a few titles.)

Basically the most important stuff to keep up2date is pcsx2 itself and gsdx plugin. Other plugins aren't updated often or they are already working fine and updates aren't really needed.

+agreement.

Forget ZeroGS. It was flaky enough at the best of times, now it's just plain abandoned. Stick with gsDX and the main .exe itself -- but keep different SVN release .exes as quite often latest SVNs break a shitload more than they fix.

Need some help over here:
In God of War 2 I get only half the framerate with many enemys on screen.
I'm using the pcsx2 096 and GSdx 1006 m.
Are there any better options available?
Also Metal Gear Solid 3 exits in the intro as Snake is smokeing his cigar.

I had Started to play shadow of the colossus
the graphic of this game compared to the most of the other PS2 games
is Amazing.

and you were right here,40-45 FPS is indeed not playble, cuz it's slow.
but speed hacks helping a lot,
50-60 FPS=playble.

Yeah looks even better on PS2 with all the post process and stuff displaying correctly. But still the best looking PS2 games are GoW1/2.

Sorry I'm new to this can someone help me out please?
So what do i need to do?
Download that ps2 emulator, then download a ps2 game, then just mount the ps2 game once i've converted the files to an iso using winrar.
Then play the game after updating and getting the latest plug-in?

check this thread before randomly trying different configs to get a game to run: http://forums.pcsx2.net/thread-4256-page-1.html
look for the game you wanna play and get the same version of plugins+emu as mentioned there. that should get the game running and if it doesn't run fast enough, at least you have a working config that you can tweak to make it faster
