My WinRAR icons are replaced with Alcohol 120% icons after I installed it. I tried going into the options and adding/removing the shell extensions in both programs, reinstalling WinRAR and Alcohol 120%, Going into the Folder Options and tried to change the File Types extension, but none of this worked!

Can anyone PLEASE help me out?

Thanks in advance...

i got a french version of winrar but it should be something like that...

1- open winrar
2- go in option / configurations (ctrl+S)
3- go in the integration tab(not sure its called that in the eng ver.) anyway the last tabs
4- select the type of file you want to be assosiated with winrar...

No, doesn't work, but I figured it out. I had to delete WinRAR and Alcohol 120% with the remaining registry files before reinstalling them... That worked...

Thanks anyway for trying to help me out...

Well, you don't have to delete both apps for it. There's an other way:

XP:
in your explorer (I got a dutch version of windows, so my translation might not always be correct....hope that will be over as soon as I got my new computer....heh):
extra > map(/ directory)options > Filetypes (/file extentions)
Go to the rar extendion(s) where this bug applies to (and so needs to be fixed). Then click 'Edit' and select winrar (browse for it if it's not in that list > defult install directory is C:\Program Files\WinRar\WinRar.exe).

If it's the problem still occures, go to the same tab and then delete the extentions on which the problem applies....then just open them with WinRar and tell windows that winrar is the defult app to open them with.
