You know whats LULZ
wanted to make a walkthough on Youtube about this game,
so guess what, they removed it saying i used a no dvd exe and its a Viacom property,
so i fucked it uploaded it again under a gibberish name,
so they deleted it again and wrote something like this
"Look i understand you like our game but we don't want people to buy the PC version, because of a installation error, we don't know how you installed it' (omg you got to be kidding me) "but we are allready worked out a solution for the ones that have it" (yeah reprit DVD LULZ)

so i send them a pm with
"Hello Grin or some one that reports this shit, i get you want to minimazie the damage but as you see this game fully playable when you extarct the data2.cab, so why not make a custom extractor for this file, is this SO HARD to make it or what??? This would saved some bucks...no?

But yeah your right no one can play this game, yeah then lest re-print the DVD .... simply GENIUS"

still waiting for the reply

You could also have said that you own the Steam version of the game since that one and the Direct2Drive version are working as intended. Very Happy
(Depends on the location you're in of course, us Europeans get the game on the 29th, hopefully working as intended, though I'm not purchasing it but other potential customers would obviously be a bit upset. )

EDIT: Altered post a bit.

For some reason I can't extract the "Vista" file
 Spoiler:

Not sure how important that is, but the game don't start that's for sure. I can see the little disc spinning (securom) and then nothing.

This is what i have as file structure (probably totally wrong)
 Spoiler:

I put the Video folder inside the Data folder...wrong? At the mo that is the only folder in the Data folder.

Theres nothing in the vista folder, just another folder, i think. Its not important anyway. Are you using the most upto date daemon tools? Latest DT lite and YASU or DT pro and DTE..

Do you have it set to \data\video\ or \data\videos\? also make sure it's videos and not Videos as for some reason it'll crash if folder names are written in uppercase letters (Or what it's called) also don't move or rename any movie files (Logos either) as that'll also crash the game. (Even if you replace them with a blank version, engine is pretty damn sensitive for some reason.)

Finally that Vista EXE might just regard permissions like a UAC prompt.

EDIT: Also context.xml and not context.txt (Probably correct and just assigned to be opened with notepad or similar but worth mentioning.)

Works 100% on Vista 32bit. Only 4 hours of gameplay is just sad and the character can't even jump ffs. Seriously anyone buying this must be insane.

Hm...still no go. I think I have done all what you guys proposed here.
Using the latest YASU DT etc.

I think the vid folder is correct.
And yea, "context" is just assigned to open with "notepad", its a .xml

Same thing, the Securom icon starts to spin and then nothing. In the task manager "Terminator Salvation" is running but.

Are you running it in compatibility mode or using UAC, for the first one you don't need to use it and for the latter always run it as administrator. Smile

Also make sure there's no conflics with SecuROM blocking stuff so use the latest Daemon Tools version (Lite works just fine) and Yasu (DTE hasn't been updated in a while.)

Other than that the game needs the Nov 2008 DirectX SDK but there's a March 2009 version though it's not required, also need the PhysX runtimes so get the latest one from NVIDIA.

Can't think of much else as I guess display drivers and similar are up to date along with system drivers.
(Soundcard drivers and settings might also be important for Xonar drivers you need to disable the GX functionality and compatibility mode won't work, unsure about Creative and Razor though Realtek releases new drivers very often.)

EDIT: File layout is correct by the way as the game tries to initiate and doesn't crash, it just doesn't fully load for some odd reason.

Sorry to hear about your woes, Cap .... it's a shame too as the game is incredibly fun! I honestly don't "get" people sometimes -- all this hatred over the game and for what? The graphics are nice, the audio is great, the gameplay is FUN.

I like it.

A lot.

I also enjoyed very much and coop is great. It is short, but also was wanted, and mirrors edge and yada yada yada. It´s a 6/10 -if not a 7/10- for me. Gfx are great, even better than wanted i´d say, sounds could have been better but the music compensates for it.
All i´m saying is that this games is no worse than wanted. And yes sabin, IT IS fun, i don´t know why people are being such drama queens about it. Maybe bad reviews had a huge influence upon us and that caused an opposite reaction Question, who knows, lulz.

Aye! Of course there are things wrong with the game, there are things wrong with every game (except FFVIII, Deus Ex and Psychonauts, they're perfect) - but IMO the pros outweigh the cons.

Graphics are nice and detailed, though it could do with a touch of AA in places and some textures are a bit blurry.

Audio is very well done with good voice overs, excellent music and relatively beefy sound effects.

Levels/Chapters are very short, but that just fits the gameplay nicely - before boredom sets in.

My only gripe with the T600s is that they move too fast. Rather than stalking you and having a feeling of fear over it, they move WAY too fast and that loses some of the Terminator touch.

It works fine for me on my Win7-x64, just make sure you follow the instructions on the previous page about regsvr'ing the .OCX file in the SysWOW64 folder mate Smile

Well it's not a bad game they didn't fuck it up with the engine and i like it a lot more then the xbox360 version with it's long loading times of over 30 seconds. With this it takes only a couple of secs. Nice graphics and action and indeed a lack of aa but i don't care a lot and the game is just short enough so it won't get boring. Gameplay could be better but it's that bad and of course a matter of taste. At first a was looking for the jump button but of course this game hasn't one Razz

On the xbox i thought it was a shitty game, i hate it playing on a console why the hell did i buy one once Sad
