Excellent. I'm giving it a spin now, seems they fixed everything that was annoying me, especially the "I WONT ATTACK" error.

The all father has vanished, creating an opening in the pantheon.

To fill the void, Demigods from across from the mortal world must wage

war against one another in a bid to ascend to true godhood.

Demigod is a real-time, tactical strategy game that includes extensive

role-playing elements. Choose from several Demigods, each poised for

battle with their own unique capabilities and awe-inspiring powers.

Vanquish other would-be gods as you gain levels, increase in power,

unlock the power of mystic artifacts and slowly battle your way closer

   to joining the Pantheon.

Standing in your path are cunning and ferocious opponents that are

controlled by either a sophisticated AI system, or by other players

via the Internet. Both single- and multiplayer offer a persistent

universe where your Demigod uses the spoils of victory to draw closer

to ascension, thwart an enemy's attempt at ascension or even acquire

powerful items that can be unleashed in the next battle.

The combination of awesome gameplay, incredible graphics and

pulse-pounding action means that Demigod is infinitely replayable.

You'll keep coming back again and again as you valiantly try to

reach the Pantheon and bask in the glory of your final ascension.

GPG have released two very weak games in a row, and you really have to wonder what the future holds for them. I really feel sorry for Brad Wardell having to deal with the fallout over the game, but maybe that's karmic retribution for his smugness over the "Gamer's Bill of Rights" - wonder why he's not mentioned that recently LOL! 2) Gamers shall have the right to demand that games be released in a finished state. DOUBLE LOL!

Both Chris Taylor and Brad Wardell were relying on Demigod being big, and I hope both Stardock and GPG can ride this out and get back to releasing some great games. Maybe they can get Bill Roper on board for their next project.

i don't agree with your statement. What other weak game are you referring to? I thought everything they have come out with has been pretty darn good. Sure demigod had some issues but it was the first game they tried to create like that. At least they gave refunds and what not. I think the future is very bright for them despite pessimistic people like yourself.

At least they are bending over backwards and sideways to fix the thing. All my issues with it are pretty much gone. I am just waiting on the pantheon reset.

EDIT: Ah I see. You meant GAS POWERED GAMES has released 2 weak games. Well, i dont find Demigod to be weak. But prior to that, yeah.

I actually enjoyed Space Siege, 7/10 for me. I got boring at first, but it ended up being quite fun and the history was also good.

Absolutely agree! A lot of you guys gave me shit over my love of Space Siege, but I still stand by it; Space Siege is excellent, a fun and enjoyable hack'n'slash with a decent story.

						Yeah my man! lulz

Anyway... 2 new demigods should arrive soon, cant wait.

As for LOL... i didnt play wow due to those cartoonish gfx, and LOL looks even more cartoonish that dota itself. I know that dota it´s a not a matter of graphics, but on the other hand, i´m an admin of a local pvpgn server, and i know 3000+ ppl who play dota who haven´t even tried demigod yet, and i dont think they will buy league of legends either. Maybe some of them will give dg a try when the demo comes out.

It´s like cs 1.6/diablo2/starcraft players, they won´t try a new title even if it delivers something different and/or better.

I never got into playing DOTA simply because of the type of people that play it... God FORBID if you're new to it.

That was one of my reasons too. Most "doters" around here used to play cs, meaning they´re 15-18 y/o boastful, brainless jerks.

New 1.01 patch has been released. So no way to rip the files into a patch like DoW 2? Oh well, will probably end up buying this as my friends and I have fun playing online over hamachi with Radiance release. Need some more Demigods though! Does anyone know what the misc improvements are?

Version 1.01 includes a host of new features and improvements to the game including:

						Here's a more detailed changelog:

Demigod v1.01

--------------------------------

- 1.01 update

- Added underlying code to attempt to rehost when players quit

- New automated handling of in game disconnects.

- Optimized upstream bandwidth to reduce load. This should help most on 128-Kbs conections.

- Connection refresh updates on player creation

- Changed disconnect back to 30 seconds.

- Single player games are now single player. Previously they were passing in the flag to be lan games.

- Bug fix for launching a game before it was ready when removing automatch players

- Disconnect dialog is no longer modal. It now allows player to access the menus and chat while it is showing.

- Modified exe version checking code so that both players need to use the /allowmismatch cmd line param in order to have mismatched exes play together.

- Fixed chat history and announcement text overlays interference with mouse clicks.

- Updated overlay text for localized versions

- Removed the Exit to Windows option in MP games. You have to quit the game first.

- Switched order of data calls after hosting.

- Teleportation effect failure handling.

- AI Players display AI instead of ping 0

- AI

1. Adjustments to caution and hazard detection and avoidance.

2. Adjusted health level flee percentage.

3. Demigods do not use minions when fleeing, may summon minions in combat.

4. Improved teleportation

5. Increased Demigod planning frequency

6. Improved item usage when endangered.

7. Tower tag improved.

And last but NOT least:..

- Moving targets in Ability task now properly handled (the famous 'Sedna bug'). A special thank you to bman654 for going beyond the call of duty and isolating the portions of script that were being problematic. Cleanup of this area of script

As I've said in other threads - DoTA has a pretty rough community. But as the resident DoTA player on these forums, I can safely say, the game itself, once the player is familliar, is one of the most balanced and polished pvp games available. It is had to claim any one hero is completely overpowered, because there is a counter to everything.
