Wow the new look of this game seems really amazing,
Sureee its not OMFG! graphics, buttt its unique style and nothing out like it will be a selling point, along with the features the game has...

Although there have been crackdown and that new PoP game but this seems different in a way,
It would be nice to see the article if anybody can find the scans! I'm sure they are out there somewhere!

Up till now, I had not been paying attention to this game at all (all I knew was it's name, and that it was some sort of FPS in development by Gearbox).

After seeing the new art style, it has gone front-and-center on my radar.

Definitely the most interesting visuals I've seen since TF2 (which in turn, was just about the most interesting thing since Wind Waker, which in turn, was the most interesting thing since Jet Grind Radio. I like cartoon-style graphics!).

Correcting people since 2007 even if they're not wrong.

I was actually just playing XIII the other day. It still looks really good, but I personally don't think it has aged quite as well as Wind Waker or Jet Grind Radio (which are both helped a lot by their incredible animation).

Yep.

Looking at the first screen in this topic made me go 'meh'.

In fact, that guy there is apparently the protagonist, which if no one told me would have gone unnoticed. I had just assumed it was some random dude with no bearing to the story because of how generic he looks.

Yeah, whoever that is, he didn't look that interesting before.

But in this screen, holy shit does he look cool.

He looks like he might drop dead any moment. Like a long time heavy drug user.

Not much more than the girl next to him...

If you want to go that way, though; in the old version, he looked like a total steroid abuser, who's muscles are about to burst

I really dislike how thin they made Mordicai. I'm not a fan of the muscle-bound beefcake bullshit that is prevalent in FPS titles these days, but I'm also not a fan of the ridiculously stick-thin protagonists that look like they've spent the better part of a decade addicted to meth and would snap in half in a stiff breeze.

I'm sure they'll make him a bit buffer in the full game. If not, there are always mods.

Except he's not exactly "thin," in the standards of the game's new art style. They're all tall and thin. In context, he looks pretty normal.

Then again, I like Spike Spiegel, so...guess it's just me.

realistic is boring, uncreative and bland as fuck. If "realistic" games sold, we'd see more of them and crysis wouldn't be a joke.

Art work like this requires more creativity, and can be a lot funner.

The dude in the PC Gamer cover was pretty much the opposite - your usual pumped-up Gears of War alpha male. Razz
