Ok, just saw the new Call of Duty trailer and I'm suffering from the "I can't wait" syndrome.

I'm looking for some recommendations for games to play to ease my impatient.

I've already played all of Call of Duty games, Crysis, Far Cry, Bioshock.

I'm looking specially for some great FPS with great war action that looks as good as possible.

Any recomendations?

To OP - you'd be better off shoving a sharpened pencil into your eye and spending the rest of the day in the emergency room. It'd probably work out cheaper too.

Playing an FPS on a console is like trying to type with your dick - it just doesn't feel right.

BF needs to come back to PC, it's been so long....

don't go around bashing games solely because the devs decided to ride the console train after making pc games. whiny little bitch.

and yeah, playing FPSes on consoles (except wii) feels inferior when compared to the good old mouse+keyboard - but who says you have to play with a (standard) controller? Laughing

I agree with you, expect for the pencil part, blind is really the last thing I want to become, I'd rather be paralytical than blind, I absolutely 100% hate consoles, I even won a PS3 a few months back and I gave him to my brother in law, this is only to give you an idea of how I hate those annoying little things, for me gaming has only one name, and that's PC!!!

I'm not whining about anything - I'm simply trying to prevent the guy from wasting his time and money in buying a console in the hopes that he would get some fun out of it playing the games you recommended.

The last console I owned was N64. In May of last year I finally bought a PS3 off of EBay thinking - "Well, it's been a while - maybe consoles HAVE changed - I owe it to myself to give it a try". Big, and very costly, mistake.

I sunk probably about 100 hours into Bad Company - and even after all that time aiming still felt like pulling fucking teeth. There is simply 0 precision in aiming with those analog sticks when compared to a mouse. The controller ruins any and all possible enjoyment out of FPS'es if you're used to the pinpoint precision of mice.

Interesting little product - but I think in the end it would be just as awkward.
Why would they put the 4 face buttons in the thumb area? There's a reason mice have elongated thumb buttons on the same height level - the human thumb isn't meant for precision.

It probably is more accurate than a stock controller, but I'd have to try that out first hand before I would plunk down $80 for it.

I'd like to point out something very important - video game systems have been around for a LONG time for a reason.

Having both a PC and a PS3 for gaming has enriched my gaming experience certainly. Especially with games like Gran Turismo Prologue, Metal Gear Solid 4, NHL 09, RE5, Rock Band and Little Big Planet.

Brothers in Arms series, especially the last one, Hell's Highway offer very cinematic WW2 war storytelling. Smile

Anyone who recommended console-only games has failed epically, this is the PC section we're discussing on.

And only the Gears of War clones can be played properly with gamepad, all else is weird.

I had just spent $320 for the system and $60 for the game. I was going to enjoy the fucking game and learn to use that shitty fucking controller if it killed me. In the end, it very nearly did.

At the end of that 100 hours I had had enough. In a fit of sheer fucking rage, the likes of which I had not experienced since I was six years old and pissed off at Mario on my NES, I threw the fucking controller and called it quits.

I'd sell this crap in a heartbeat - but the fact that I wouldn't make back anywhere near what I spent on it, combined with the fact that I don't want to have to deal with selling on EBay, means that I keep it for playing sports games ONLY. Anything that requires more than ballpark precision I stay away from because its simply not possible.

The following genres are better on console than PC currently (albeit mostly because of developers)

Sports
Fighting
Racing

Though, there are some great console games outside those genres.

Racing??You must be kidding.PC has the best racing games for any kind of gamers.Simulation,arcade,semi-arcade,f1,mods,online leagues.

On topic now.Play Stalker SOC Complete Edition 2009 with all the patches. This is the edition with the best mods.Visually it's impressive. You'll be amazed by the 24 day/night cycle dynamic lightning and weather. The night horror atmosphere will make you anticipate the sun to rise.
