Wtf? Never heard of that...I've heard of Bi-Weekly, but never once a month. I get paid weekly (won't do that bi-weekly crap).
Is the monthly thing an English practise? Or European even?

Worldwide, actually. Outside of the Americas, salaries usually come once a month.  |

Damn.....that sucks.
I was thinking it would be hard to budget your money and to save.
Bi-Weekly is hard enough.
Thats why I like weekly and thank god I get weekly. Only me, my lead hand (assistant) and one other guy get paid weekly at my shop. Everyone else is bi-weekly.
I won't work bi-weekly pay unless I ABSOLUTELY have to. Which I haven't had to do in like....9 years.
My girl is salaried so its weekly as well.
Damn tho, monthly pay....horrible arrangement imo.

It doesn't matter really, if we think about it for a moment. It's the same thing, wither you get the same amount over 2 weeks or once a month, it's the same thing. Requires a bit more of planning, but it's the same.

Like sabin, the planning is a bitch when u get paid bi-weekly. Monthly....fuck......and the end of the month bills....I'd fuckin flip if I got paid monthly.
Weekly is so much better imo.

I have a thing with money burning a hole in my pocket, I haven't had the desire to update my computer other than GFX card once in a while since my 8800GT still runs everything so lately my money is just GF and tattoos. all you'd really need to do is divide said amount by number of weeks in month and live off that for the week, but....again....that large sum of money would be like HELLO SPENDING TIME.

I get paid twice a month, on the 15th and 30th unless it's a sat/sun/holiday and then it's the friday before ... not a big difference from bi-weekly, just 24 paychecks a year instead of 26.
I don't think I'd be able to budget a monthly check all that great :/

I prefer the longer pay period. A lot of people prefer getting paid frequently for the sense of gratification/accomplishment rather then budget/planning issues. Either way it's the same, some just prefer the more frequent "reward."

The 15th and 30th thing must be an office thing cause my ex-wife works in an office and she gets the same way.
So, is it an office thing? |

I don't think it's necessarily just office jobs. But it's much better than bi-weekly, where you end up getting paid in weird weeks that don't correspond to rent/mortgage. My gf works for the ontario courts and she is paid bi-weekly, so for instance last month she got paid on Fri Apr 3rd, which is obviously 3 days after rent and bills come in.

Tho I think the 15th and 30th thing is an office thing. People I know who work in offices get paid that way.
Never heard of anyone who works in a shop getting paid like that.
Meh, as long as you get paid and can pay your bills on time so your not charge late fee's, its all good. |

I get paid monthly.
Always the 28th. If the 28th is weekend, I get the cash the weekday before it... so If 28th is sunday, I get cash friday the 26th.
Planning on how to use the money the whole month is not really that hard..
I always know what minimum wage I get, and then comes a few grand extra for overtime..
All bills are paid a few in end/beginning of month, so thats out of the way.
Then I got cash to spend however I want the rest of the month.
I hate you.

I get paid the 25th every month here. I mean, your bills are due at the end of every month here, so its just natural that all your money comes then too. Get money, pay bills and do whatever!
