it wouldnt because PS2 messiah, mars etc.. doesnt dupport dual-layers which arent original.
create second DVD with all wiles from first except gt4.vol and put gt4l.vcl from second layer on it.
after that black screen, insert it and it will go further but it will stop when he tries to load something from first *.vol file and you cant insert dvd more then 2 times because it just stops spinnig. you could eventually be a DJ and swap DVD everytime it stops.
we just need vol extractor and it will be ok, hope in few days we would be able to rip some music, fmv and things like that.

Yes lets hope some dude figures out how to extract and rebuild the vol files. I've seen that some guy is on it right now, so lets keep our fingers crossed

i know how to do that too, but i need vol extractor that works. i have many expirience because i done many things with PES an WE, i rebuild it many times.
it is about removing some movies, and resampling audio form 48khz to 11.500kz(that means a lot of free space). you will only notice that if you are audiophil otherwise it is the same for us normal people. also it is about reducing colors in some FMV and you will also not notice that unless you are Picasso. it is pretty the same for average humanoid if there is 16mil colours or 65536. just open some pic with 16mil. colors and reduce it to 65536 and trust me unless you are Borg you will not notice a difference.

well my matrix chip is dual layered dvd9 compatible on backups but the chinise version only loaded up ther copyright logo of GT4 at the beginning then black screen after, also noticed that Tv lost the ntsc signal when that happened also, as if it reset itself

i did a lots of rippings for WE and PES, but im from Croatia.
yes it will work once we finish relocations of LBA and resizing vol files.
Dual-layer works if you have proper DVD burning rom(i dont know which) some people burnt it and played with DMS3-something chip.
so that is the proof that game works.

this one is nuked aswell ....apparently all releases work fine when "pressed" on to silver back dvd ,but won't work when burned

I guess you guys gonna have to wait til the scene makes a good DVD5 rlz with the us game as Kalisto Team did with Xenosaga chapter 1 when it was released in USA 2 years ago.

This totally sucks. 3 fuckin releases DVD9 that won't work. C'mon, can't some 1337 cracker fix this? Been out in japanese stores some days now. But I shouldn't complain. I can't do shit myself.

So far i have only been able to find one (two) chips that work with DL DVD-/+r discs, (DMS4 PRO/Lite) have anyone tested with theese? I mean, if the chip isnt "accepting" the disc, then ofcourse the game isnt gonna work and can therefore be a nuke? Right?

mine is a MXL2 (matrix) and on their website says
Supports games on DVD-9 media !!
but have tried on a DL DVD and all i get is the 1st copyrightlogo up and thats it

There is written in this first link, that DMS3 suports DVD9. So why you guess that it doesn't? :/
