Lol, would be worth playing the game long enough just to see what happens if you manage to kill the entire male population from the town and eventually let it die out since the women cant reproduce without the men =)

There's the adoption service, so building Dykeland or Fagtown is theoretically possible.

I dont think so, the game will automatically move out & in random ppl to balance it out (unless you turn that off in the options, below aging).
I made 1 red skin family and 1 blue skin family called Frost. The poor Frost family was moved out by the game within 1 day Sad

Omg wtf have you guys seen the stair in the sims 3 store? Its a NORMAL wooden stair, just like EVERY PREVIOUS SIMS GAME HAS HAD FOR FREE! Evil or Very Mad
I was surprised at how the game had no normal wooden stairs, only that wierd oversized thing. Man they sure did remove items from the retail game, no fucking doubt. These items were completed before release, no doubt. Or just pulled straight from Sims 2 with some quick 3ds max editing.

Its EA. What did you seriously expect. Downloadable content is the new rage. Blame Xbox Live/MS. for starting it off Laughing

Some companies keep it real. Mass Effect DLC is free on the PC Very Happy

The developers of The Witcher busted their asses to make the Enhanced edition and they made it free for the original game as well (almost all content, some changes were too big to fit in a patch)

And other idiots instead of adding stuff, they're removing !!!!!!!

I'm fine with DLC stuff.

The problem is that it's completely obvious EA had the developers strip items from the game which would should have been there to begin with. Most of these 'extra' items in the item store are things which have been in there even from the original Sims - And now they want you to buy them, when it is obvious they were stripped from the retail release just make a few extra bucks.

Granted, you do get 1000 points for free to start off with - But thats not even enough to buy a full set of some of the items, which once again, were obviously stripped from the retail release just to make money.

Worst think about DLC is that companies are now shipping games without editors, so that user generated content wouldn't interfere with their cash strategy... Sad

I will make a new thread about DLC hate lol, seems like an interesting topic. Very Happy

What extra stuff does the Collector's Edition have? A new chair, two new hairstyles and 1100 Sim Points instead of 1000?

European Sports Car Download
New The Sims 3 theme music

Ya I just notice both versions will get the points. The CE suddenly doesn't seem as worthy.

Neither Microsoft nor Xbox Live is responsible for EA blatantly removing content from the disc.
Downloading arcade games, mappacks and songs is something new, new content.
The "pointless outrage" is about content that is availible BEFORE the game is released. Its an easy difference to understand. Wink

For some reason, I get the feeling there's some psychological trick there. If the price were visible right away, perhaps you'd be less likely to make the purchase.

It's all still a rip-off, even 75 cents for a hairstyle. That'd mean 100 stupid hairstyles would be worth 75 USD. It might not look like much, given most things are sold individually and all the little prices floating around, but it'll start to add up, and before you know it, you'll realize you've spent 40 bucks for two lights, three items of clothing, three chairs, two plants and a bloody toy pony*
*Items and figures for illustrative purposes only.

I totally agree. When I went on the Sim 3 store, I noticed a lot of items are at least 100 sim points. Talk about a huge cash grab. Like you stated, buy the time you realize it, you've spent $75 on a few items. What a rip off.

I bought the Collector's edition. I mean what the hell, you get a USB drive and some other stuff. Most games alone start at like $60 and you get nothing with it. I personally think they did a decent job on the game this time. Especially since you can explore the whole city and not just be reduced to your home. On game stop I saw that you could buy the regular game but you got the bonus content of a hot rod vehicle for download. Don't see it anymore though. The hot rod looks better than the european car you get with the Collector's Edition. Hopefully they will put up the Hot Rod on the Sims 3 store. And its seems that Sims 2 now how its own store for downloading content lol.

I have a feeling that devs saw how people were getting better quality mods for free from just regular end user and decided to put a stop to that. Look at Sims 2 for example. Oblivion is another example. A lot of great mods for that game and even Fallout 3. But the new patch for Fallout 3 has "broken" mods, which was probably done deliberately.

Seems like devs or publishers don't want people getting better mods for free anymore. I can see this going the way for a lot of games now, which IMHO is BS.

Cant find if its been posted but:

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601110&sid=apRPoA_dd_7U

Bloomberg reports that pirated versions of EA's The Sims 3 were downloaded over 180,000 times between May 18 and May 21. The game will not be officially released until June 2nd, and it does not make use of SecuROM for DRM. Quoting: "That outpaces the 400,000 downloads over three weeks for Electronic Arts' Spore, the most-pirated game of 2008. ... Copies of the game available on file-sharing Web sites aren't the full version, Electronic Arts said. 'The pirated version is a buggy, pre-final build of the game,' Holly Rockwood, a company spokeswoman, said in an e-mailed statement. 'It's not the full game. Half the world — an entire city — is missing from the pirated copy.'"

hehe

if by incomplete he means more than half the stuff was stripped off the game to be sold by microtransactions then that applies for retail too

razor release was retail, and even if reloaded's was not final there's pretty much no noticeable difference at all except some hex numbers and shit

Razor Release wasn't existant and that point, and yes there was a noticeable difference, atleast for me.

I had savegame corruption and crashes, those went away with the Reloaded release.

Exactly man, this is why i supported the Witcher devs by buying the Enhanced edition, even after i finished the game several times with downloaded version. EAgames is fucking cheap, but considering most of their buyers are girls they will get their profits anyway.

I had three minor bugs with Reloaded (retarded toddler pathfinding, unstoppable virtual reality messages (stoped after a while) and an infinitly sellable painging (fixed by selling the stand and buying a new one)). No bugs with Razor so far.

I doubt it. The thing was badly cracked for a start. So your game could muck up at any time. Due to SuckUROM.

Thats enough reason to switch over to the non-suckurom version by Razor...
