I can confirm this has fade, but I do not know what triggered it.
After a bit of playing a text appeared in the middle of the screen saying: "Cracked game ma fade", text slowly dissapeared and then after awhile there was a sound of a fanfare and the game logo appeared, among with the makers name and logo, etc. - shortly the game returned with a sort of "drunken view" similar to GTAIV.
Version?Running the game with crack or mini image dominae?
1.01 game with 1.00 cracked EXE, with the language mod.
The DVD9 release comes back with 'emulation detected' on attempted boot and the attached mini image file comes back with a 'corrupt' file error when mounted.
Thats after installation and 1.01 update.

OK so lets see if some things can be clarified a bit.
There's two "working" releases out, a clone image and a cracked scene release, crack is for version 1.00 as the current patch is beta and from what I've read in a previous post in this thread the group (Genesis) will also crack updates to the game. (1.01 final that'll be released in a few days for example.)
The patch while fixing a few bugs also updates the SecuROM protection, there's two systems in play here one being the downloadable edition using paul.dll stuff and online activation but if that dll is removed it'll revert to a simple disc check however current emulator and protection utilities are detected by this updated version.
(A required security module can not be activated or what that message is, code 2500.)
Assuming the serial number is valid the 1.00 clone should work with the so called fade system but reading the recent posts it seems the cracked version is detected and "faded" via gameplay alterations after beeing played with a bit.
Regarding mods the system is nearly identical to ArmA which in turn is similar to Operation Flashpoint as it's the same engine, some mods are already available via sites like Armaholic albeit the official forums are currently down to make the main website a bit more accessible due to traffic/bandwith increases.
Also regarding the English translation posted previously you just rename the current language files (German version or whatever) in the \Addons and \DTA folder (Keep them so you can revert for patches.) and then copy the new ones over, these files aren't properly BI signed though so multiplayer on cheat protection servers won't work as you'll most likely get kicked, Hamachi and similar should still work however and normal MP might work until the serial is blacklisted.
(If serial is blacklisted then both versions might fade although 1.00 might still work if EXE is blocked via firewall.)
General bugs and such have been pretty minor stuff from what I've noticed but I haven't played much, more patches will be released in time though and the full English localization is set to be released around June 20th.
(Will be a bit more up-to-date but I'd still estimate a patch soon after it's released to fix some bugs with that edition as it'll probably take at least two weeks for the gold manufacturing process to complete before the discs are shipped and made available.)
as the official german version is already available to be bought and downloaded online (digital download). if i were to buy the german version online, can i still apply the english patch to it?
for the german version, if i were to play online, will it be limited to only able to play in the german servers or will i be able to play with international servers when they are available later?
i'm thinking whether i should buy the german version online now or just wait for the US or international version when its out.
what about the online servers?
universal too?
i don't know if by doing the unofficial english text patch is going to affect future installations of official patches.
and i am also worried that the german version even with english patch can only be played in german servers online.

English patch works perfectly. All text in menus and missions were in english for me.
Damn, really? What's the link for your version because in mine many of the graphical options (and so on) is in different language even if the main text and speech is English. Would be big help to have those other things in English too.

Does the DVD9 version [not Genesis] have to be mounted on a virtual IDE drive ie: Daemon Tools Pro?
I keep getting 'emulation detected' on boot, also the .mds returns a 'corrupt' error when u try to mount it.
Also the installer attempts to install tot he program group folder as opposed to the correct program group x86 folder (Vista64) would that have anything to do with emulation detection issues?

First link posted on the thread (page 11).
Second link lol

Just extracting the game now
Ryzen 5 5600, ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II, Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32GB 3600MHz C16, MSI RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC , Corsair RMx Series RM750x. AOC AGON AG324UX - 4K 144Hz 1ms
Don't know whether this works for every chipset - both methods work for me:
Win XP: use vIDE of DT Pro Adv + DTE; close DTE after use (disable all virtual drives of other apps)
Vista: use XP method, or vSCSI of DT lite + YASU; terminate YASU in device manager after cloaking (like mentioned in the GCW instructions)
Very laggy on my comp (single core, 6800gt !) but the graphic improvement over Arma is huge indeed. Explosions look really nice and I like the motion blur
•Install the game - Full Installation.
•Mount the ARMA2.MDS Mini-Image in DAEMON Tools Lite v4.30.4.
•Use an anti-blacklisting tool, like Y.A.S.U v1.6.9040, to to avoid blacklisting of virtual drive(s).
•After cloaking terminate Y.A.S.U using the Task Manager (Don't use the 'Terminate YASU' window that will pop up, but wait for the End Task window -> End now)
•Play the Game!
