@maxcohen
I guess some of us have to wait for an updated YASU/DTE then.
I've also read on other forums there are problems with certain chipsets.

...or, as always there's the option to burn a RMPS copy with Alcohol 120% - if you have the Clone version.

@superman
To be honest i don't think it makes a difference, but maybe try 4.30.4.

some strange i experience.
i'm now in the mission where i am suppose to go to 2 towns. one of them is krasnostav.
whenever i try to go near the town i will be shot at and die. even when i drive or fly over.
and the weird thing is when order my team mates to go to the town, they will not be shot at.

is this fade kicking in or what?
anyone else experience this?

K for those that asked:

OS: Windows 7 Build 7100

Daemon tools lite version 4.30.4.0027

Grabed the latest yasu of GCW links

Dropped Yasu into Daemon tools folder

Launched Yasu and cloaked (returned successful)

Mounted MDS file that came with my Arma2 download off usenet Armed.Assault.II.DVD9

The download had setup folder (as in run setup and installs arma2)

Mini image folder for the MDS etc

Patch folder 1.01 (containing patch of course)

And a serial.txt file with the wide spread known serial. ( I did not use this I just entered all 0's like you could with arma Very Happy)

So I dont know about the GCW mini image as did not generally download that one I used what was ever in my download package off usenet.. That is all I have done to play arma with no fade as of yet or warnings about illegal copies.

Dunno if it's Win7 fault but this game on my Gtx285 is truly laggy. And the lack of AA is somewhat disturbing.

There is no lack of AA.There's an option filtrate something.On 200% it's 4xMSAA.

It's no true AA ,the image is rendered at a higher res and then downscaled to monitor res.. Huge performance hit and It doesn't remove jaggies as good as true AA.

to install the patch for the version without installer, add this key
Quote:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2]
"MAIN"="d:\\ArmA2"

change to reflect your actual folder naturally

Yup not having normal AA options is very disturbing I just cant understand why they went this route lol its fucking insane really.. Another annoying thing is there is no option to turn off that headache of a fucking motion blur, fuck that makes me dizzy at my age lol.. Id rather it OFF its not needed its over exagerated if anything cause when i move around view with my own eyes I dont go all out of focus and blured lol..

Anyone got a working English patch?

I got the one from (http://ifraggle.com/2009/05/29/arma-2-english-language-patch/) but it doesn't seem to work, placed them in the right folders.

Peace.

Rename the existing file and then place these ones in the \Addons\ and \Dta\ folder, should change the language (text) of the game, posted previously along with other details, made a rather large post on the previous page about setting and such for example and precise install instructions and registry values can also be found one or two pages back. add the cd-key to the registry (see TPB comments) and then the install folder like how i said and the 1.01 patch should find the installation

for the english patch you should delete or move the original files
the engine loads *.pbo, so if you just rename them the german originals will be loaded aswell

That's why you change it from Language.pbo to Language.pbo_ Smile

EDIT: Making a mod folder out of it should work as well now that I think about it, untested but fully possible.

Ehh, wow... Did the devs compete in trying to think of the most retarded alternative for real AA?

It makes not one fucking bit of sense does it InZ ? What game dev in theyre right mind would want to opt for a more hardware sucking AA idea than letting the high end cards of today deal with it instead? And get a better outcome..

Ive read though that they are going to try and put the option back in for us Very Happy So sounds good..

Rendering the scene in a much higher state using fill shit and then scaling it back down to your native is not the fucking way to go for a performance gain lulz..

Tell you what though that boils my blood is the bis community forums are still off line apparently to deal with german patch download spikes.. such utter bullshit lol.

I dont know how anyone is having trouble patching an original install.. If you got the original exe and language files as they were on the german install all in folders as the day it breathed air into ur pc hard drive lol, then patching is fine..

Check a few threads back as there was a list of whats what posted.. And try grabbing a mini image its alot easier for the no crack scenario..They are small for the set like 1kb and 5kb.

You can still patch even if you dont have the original language files, you just hit the ignore button while patching and they will still be replaced. Not sure if it will work without the original .exe though.

The error Kotp is getting is because he has patched and is using the old carcked .exe but it looks like we have a upto date crack now

well.... played it and its everything that ARMA should have been, i like the fact you can med up a wounded team-mate, even tho it takes the piss a bit-as on similair to a healthpack in a normal game..ie....almost dying/ med kit/perfect health-i love being able to command team mates too...even tho their pathfinding may be a tiny bit off, but hey... UK release is in a few weeks Smile

Ok so you all know, not sure how far anyone has bothered with the campaign but im driving up the road to the 2nd camp im searching for this toon that has run orf.. And I get the welcome to arma music and arma 2 logo and some text about all rights reserved etc etc. and then when i stop at my next choice of area and get out the whole scenery starts to go wobbly Razz like its really hot weather. im guessing its a trigger/drunk mode. its not bad like ive seen in arma but its there..

This is with my mounted mds file and original exe and patched to 1.01.. So keep playing see what happens, I cant for the life of me now get rid of it on reload or restart nada.. weird as using key now as well.. was about to play some hamachi but mate cant even get his mounting to work same as some others here..

Bah..... :/
