lol nice. As far as the trigger you mentioned Moose, haven't seen it yet, as for getting it to run, I can't use the mini and yasu, doesn't work, no matter what way I try. I use the cracked Genesis exe. My os is x64 xp. Just deamon lite installed. It's odd how it works for some and not for others. Whatever
2600k, GigaByte R9 290x, 8 gis of ram on Windows 7 X64
@GAX; it could be the fill-rate option (just above the brightness setting) as it seems to lower your resolution (JB describes it better in previous posts). It's quite cool in an MS-DOS, Vietnam-claustrophobic type sort of way... but err, not good for clarity as you've discovered.

Yeah just restarted that section of the campaign and its not done it again, Im seeing the odd blurred out images or did do when changing settings alot. This game has lots of issues regarding stablilty with settings I think. Many patches to come im sure..
On another note just been playing the campaign on and off left on the pc that is for 3hrs or so and look what happened
Looks like we got ourselves a memory leak
Edit: Ive also noticed that my ATI card is running at only 35% load and 51c when playing arma 2.. most odd indeed.
Just set the render and resolution scales to identicle settings in the arma2cfg for my profile and run the -winxp switch and my movement is 10 fold better right now... just set FSAA to 1 see if that does anything relating to allowing card AA use while filtering is on 100% (apparently for 0)
No change altering fsaa option, but frames are fine with 200 filtering set if you leave that at 200 and lower your games resolution. It seems to work alot better for no jaggies if you do it that way.. leaving it on your native res (which i know is best for the most part in gaming) seems to tax it way to much scaling it well and beyond your standard resoluton..

What settings do you suggest for 1680X1050 res wise because it is started dip a bit for me in high action areas or places where you can see quite a ways. Also getting the illegal copies will degrade message now too so it may be that
well Jbeckman mentioned the fillrate stuff earlier and you can see it first hand the effect if you put ur game in your native res. then put the filrate up to 200 for less jaggies etc. Then go to where your arma2.cfg is and look at that with notepad and you will see your res and below it a render res dont be shocked at what you see lol.. Bis are rediculous doing this.. faggots!
But on another note regarding your question, if you use a lcd screen its always favoured to use native res and same for game. I just noticed you can get better performance lowering res for game with the filrate high as then you get no jaggies and your render res is more feasable for ur pc to handle.
MSAA or multi-sampling filters the image X amounts of times also using stuff like Adaptive AA or Edge Detect (ATI, NVIDIA has other things.)
SSAA or supersampling works in a similar way but upsamples the image X amount of times, not really used anymore but it's similar to how this game handles aliasing.
(NVIDIA cards can force supersampling in titles as it works like a brute-force method for AA, using various utilities.)
Loving this , has a few minor issues but then the original Arma had these to begin with and were soon sorted out after a few patches. Graphics are awesome have found turning the Post Proccessor Effects thing down to Low makes for much less blurriness, can't wait to try this online.

Yeah but my theory is wouldnt it be better to be running ur game at a low res and upsampling to ur native area resolution than say running at native res and upsampling to a res your screen isnt really meant for or card is not upto etc.
I did some more messing about last night and seem to have found a sweet spot as the game stands at this time. Seeing as the game fucks about using upsampling images for the AA i stuck my AA choice on box and not edge detect incase it was still using that feature.
With 150% filtering in arma its perfectly playable now for me with all textures on very high and shadows ive left on high. Dont seem to even see much diff on looks when lowering it even more if one did anyhow. Ive left view distance at 2900 which is where I normaly play at with arma 1.
The only thing im unsure of is the vid memory its on very high by default but I never trust developers to utilize ones card memory right, even warhammer online says use at your own risk as vendors report ram differently etc.
Also texture setting to default in Arma 1 was at one time working for high end cards better if set to default, was some bug when they started using more and more beta patches, makes me wonder if that still stands also with arma2.
Again I am sure they would pinch code be it said its a different built engine or not I wouldnt trust them lol. Be nice to see what comes now with the next patch if at all we see it before 505 release the english version to the rest of us outside germany..
fuck I can't even use high res textures! stupid 320 mb vidcard!
Yeah guess that goes without saying having 320mb ram on card... I hate progress on pc's lol goes way to fast for my liking.. Someone should bring out a card brand that allows you to update your ram on your card
Slight update to the config file stuff I posted before, there's a value called "armoryPoints=X;" where X is your current "points" changing it to 100000 or so will unlock everything in the armory.
