I'm disappointed that they lied when they said you can destroy anything man-made. I've run across a couple of structures that can't be destroyed, as well as bridges, and a whole multiplayer map.
I didn't try MP, but I can destroy anything I see except the planet itself. Maybe there are some key strucures you're not supposed to destroy, like bridges you always need to cross a ravine or something. What exactly can't you destroy?
I think he's being an arse, it probably looks man-made but in fact is actually a natural rock formation that is being used in some capacity.
Remember you can rebuild anything in multi-player, so there is no need to limit the destructibility.
Try the map Wreckage. You can destroy the occasional metal beam and a small shack, but apart from that, the whole wreckage is indestructible. Also those buildings in EOS someone mentioned, they're under construction, and you can't destroy the scaffoldings. Also, you can't destroy the supports for any of the large bridges.
Heads up on the last mission, it is really challenging compared to everything before it, or at least it was for me. Ass loads of enemies get tossed at you. Quick tip listed below that helped me beat it.
Spoiler:
Quick tip: You can use the jet pack to get on top of the rocks (on your left at the top of the hill within the last 100 yards...dont go up the dirt road too far) and blast a certain something and a certain someone with rockets without triggering them to attack. This was the only way I beat it. I did this last damn mission 6 times before I figured this out. Blew 2 hours trying to beat it. It is the only mission that doesn't give you a decent checkpoint so if you die you have to go ALL the way back to the bottom and fight your way back up. Argh...
playing it now , it's a nice game installing it on my hdd but on medum i 've died 12 times already :O i've liberated parker and now i;m liberating dust
I'm dying quite often too. Not because it's dififcult, though it's a bit challenging when you're being swarmed by enemies, I just can't aim with a gamepad

Yeah I am too , I found that If I get a high morale level get you Guerrillas reinforcements . They help not in that they kill enemies but not all the fire is focused on you.
I Thought M.O.A.B where a new weapon that I could constantly use and used it for a shitey chimney to try it out , Impressive explosion but didn't realise you need 3 radio tags for it . What a waste

I found the last mission quite easy. Didn't die once on it, although it was close during the last fight.
Disappointed in the upgrade system, I wish they'd let you upgrade every weapons, including EDF and Marauder ones. The Gutter is a pretty damn sweet weapon though.
i thought it would last for at least 20 hours or more
It can easily take that long if you don't rush it, it's the same with all open world games.

Man some of you guys are just impossible... I literally have not enjoyed a game so much in a long time. They have developed an amazing tech here.
Was playing some MP last night, some dude was hiding up this structure with a sniper rifle. Back in the day that would be annoying, not anymore, tremor pack the base of the structure and he comes crashing down, if he survives the fall, smash his face with the hammer... too goddamn funny.
This game really blew away my expectations, I love it.

I've been playing it here and there , doing the green challenges . think it must be about 10 hours now and not completed the town of dust yet . Its one of the few shooters lately that has really grabbed my interest
If you prioritise the missions with only occasional distractions then I can see it lasting about a dozen hours .

Damn, this is really testing my resolve.
I wanna play this now but I should wait till the official PAL release date till I pop this baby into the tray
This game can be as fun as you make it, if you try it'll give you a blast. I'm doing things I ever thought of in other games . If you get into the vibe, some fantastic things might happen. Great game, might even be worth a purchase. Sometimes it's absolute chaos when guerillas join and enemies swarm. Buildings go down, you don't know where to stand because bridges can crumble any moment. It's great seeing a tower coming at you and running, leaving the enemies behind to be crushed.
The AI is also pretty smart btw, enemies hide and use machine guns etc. Very well done. They even try to run when you're destroying a bridge they're standing on or a building they're in.
Geomod 2.0 is a step-back from the one used in the first game tbh. Sure, the destruction is a bit more realistic, but nothing beats being able to destroy everything, including terrain (except for understandable barriers). In this you can't even destroy everything man-made.
I don't exactly remember the first game, but I remember the destruction was very limited. Or are you talking about the sequel? I can even remember reviewers bitching about the lack of destructibility in the first game. Strange.

No. The sequel had worse destruction than the first one. In the first game, get some explosives and go crazy on whatever you want.
I am on Dust (2nd area) and I get asked to defend a housing block from teh badies! Now, I've found the highly powerful guns on the balconies, however the enemy just keeps coming and coming. Even with this high powered gun, it never ends! They just end up swarming the area... any tips?

yup
The point is it had no real physics attached, so you could get chunks of rock floating in the air, and the same with structures. Most of them had impervious metal beams hidden deep in the supports so it wouldn't look too stupid.
Why does nostalgia make some people seem almost deluded? It's like those idiots who claim graphically weak 360 games are the same as PS2 games, no objectivity at all.

to be fair, with this game, i still find I can destroy 90% of the walls of a house and it will still stand. once I just had a simple ladder supporting a 3 story building!
the physics, while fun, definately aren't like real life

Ha, I'm sure no-one expected real world physics. At least I hope they didn't otherwise they're an idiot.
Gameplay > Realism.
